Someone said it earlier, but I agree: Bethany's hair looks reaaally plastic-y. It's kinda gross.
It reminds me of a certain event from "American Pie"

In the game and especially the novels, the darkspawn are supposed to have this necrotic, poisoned flesh that permeates and corrupts the world around them. These darkspawn just look like people with no lips who haven't bathed in a couple weeks.
Not impressed.

However......these are all still images, and a game isn't still images, it's moving ones. Can't really judge it until they show some actual gameplay.

And here I was thinking it was "There's Something About Mary"

Agreed.
I think the new models have a sort of almost "reptilian" quality...might be the eyes and skin texture.../sigh
But this is what I see in my head when reading the books (and what i see when playing DAO)

I think 6 and 7 (the building shots) are CGI
I think they look like concept art from the Russell Crowe film "gladiator".

Is it just that it is still in Alpha or w/e and everything is still going to look way, way better at release or what?

the only thing i don't like is the look of the Ogre and Hurlocks.
Which is only 30% of the game

Right now they look like Caucasian males with zombie/skeleton heads stuck on, wearing funny armor. It looks ridiculous. They just don't look like a creature morbidly transfigured from the taint.
Hopefully at worst these are just really early shots with no lighting and are just the basic underlay models. Hawke's hair looks like it was taken straight out of the latest Lego game.

Flemeth looks great, do you plan on releasing a patch changing her look in DA:O? Or did she just get a makeover after being bored being holed up in her hut? ;p
Thanks BioWare for continuing this series! ;p

They seem to be regular models with pre-computed radiosity lighting applied. In a sense this is "cgi" since it's uses the same technology non-realtime renderers use, but it's the same technique DAO uses to for its architecture -- Denerim and everything else is done in the same way.Captain Iglo wrote...
