It's Bioware, and console screenshots, of course not.

than it's a graphical glitch :D
(but still looks like blowing cloth)

Too Bioware doesn't take advantage of the bells and whistles.
Check out the guys coat tails at 1: 23.

Capes and cloaks are probably just part of the armor (from those screens at least), but it certainly looks like they float to the wind, at least in cutscenes.

I wouldn't get too excited over capes and cloaks just yet, it just looks like some characters(and armours) will have a bit of cloth around their asses Image IPB

Must be console screenshots, lots of aliasing. Even by console standards, game looks like crap.
Doesn't even look at good as Dragon Age.

Tsk tsk. You would need a pretty powerful expensive PC to top the 360's anti-aliasing without your computer slowing down. Lets not get into that now though, it is a debate for another time Image IPB

Well, good luck avoiding debate when you just say something incorrect. I have a medium level (even low-medium by now) PC and I run Mass Effect 2 smooth 4x AA. Origins, if I remember correctly (played it a while back,  friend's copy) ran with 16AF and either 4x or 8x AA. Smooth, 45+ FPS. The battle of Denerim at the end 30-35 FPS  in the heaviest melees.

Sorry, but if those aren't console shots, and ones from months back, I'd be appalled.  Origins looked far superior, not to mention Mass Effect 2. I'm not a graphics maniac, and I don't care that much, but a step backwards is something that's bothering me. The terrain in the third shot looks very flat and barren...

That terrain in majority of the shots is atrocious

I have to agree with those who said the cityscapes look great. I can't wait to travel there.

I hope those are just early/alpha screens. Looks like they changed blood spatters, and Flemeth looks bad ass. Me likes :o

Just noticed the dialogue wheel. It's not that bad.

You know one thing I DO like? Bethany's outift is badass. Yay for not so lame looking mage clothes!

Hawke and Bethany's armor and robes look awesome. You can even see a few tears and holes in the cloth around Hawke's waist. Now I have something to look forward to other than Studded leather armor.

I really like Hawke's armour. I hope mage armours get similar care.

The flame effects look good, but I'm not sure how I feel for the Darkspawn's new look. The environments look horrible and dull, though.

However, Flemeth looks badass, and it does look like her dress train will billow a bit.

My thoughts:

1) mmm naked statues

2) thats some pretty nice looking new architecture

3) Hawke's got Gordon Freeman's color scheme

4) Does that Hurlock in the background have a helmet with Flemeth's new 'crest' on it?

QFT. I loved the pretty Tevinter robes, but they were all just recolors. And then of course the ridiculous Chasind robes. Hopefully, if the Arcane Warrior specialization is still there, we also get some cool mage armor.

The environments look terrible. The ground textures in particular are extremely blurry and bland.

Character models look decent (the faces look great), but even they look like they could use some work.

These look better :), detail on darkspawn faces is on the right track, still in some areas I feel environment textures need some work but nothing Bioware can't handle till release

Hate no, I don't like the armor models too much, imo they're a little sloppy, but you can't have it all.

5) yes, the desert environment where we're seeing the screenshots in needs a lot of work. It has the level of detail of games from several generations ago... although I think the new buildings we're seeing look nice.

6) Why, oh why, do sister Hawke's robes leave her shoulders exposed? That's so... bleh. (edit: for that matter, why is one of PC Hawke's sleeves missing? although that one looks like it could have been ripped off)

Looks blocky to me!

The shot w/ Hawke!'s sword on his back definitely shows lack of AA.  My guess is it's not enabled yet?
