Yeah, but kettle hats with that rhino horn-looking thing Flemeth has. (in both her human and dragon form)

Perhaps she's in the habit of crushing her own mooks, as powerful villains are often wont to do.

I think the graphics are actually okay. It's amazing to see how much they've improved since I started gaming back in the day. At that time, some games only allowed 4 colors and they were so horrific that you had to play in black and white to keep your eyes from melting. So yeah, I'm okay with these pics. Albino darkspawn, always cool.

Obviously the game isn't going to look like this. This is a scare tactic to get everyone worried so when they release gameplay footage people will be relieved rather than disparaging.

The pictures are pre-pre-pre-pre alpha, so it's pointless discussing the quality.



Three things about the Hawke-Bethany shot:



1 - Thumbs up for the dialogue wheel.



2 - Those answers were clearly in response to Bethany saying stuff like "We can't escape, all is lost, boo hoo hoo". I just hope she's not a "oh-please-save-my-whimpering-ass" character, otherwise I might just off her, sister or no.



3 - THE BEARD. HOLY JACK BLACK ON A POGO STICK THE BEARD.



Viewer discretion is advised when looking at Hawke's beard. Females will be impregnated. Males will suffer testosterone poisoning. Darkspawn will melt like plastic in an incinerator due to the beard's righteous epically awesome power of manliness.

Graphics are quite okay, but just because i will wait for DAO darkspawn look mod, turn on some derpth of field and move camera to BG angle. New art design is driving me mad.
   These new hurlocks looks like ****s that just robbed some fetishist shop.Ugh.

I'm not convinced by the new hurlocks and ogres; I much preferred them in DAO. They look heaps less threatening now.



And...



Why did you have to give Flemeth a magical bosom Bioware? Why? How can you be so twisted? Oh the horror! Gallons of brain bleach shall be required to play this game.

I'm digging the sharp armor design (so long as there is a fiction related reason behind the look)



Textures still look gawd awful in a lot of places; I have faith that this will be or has been addressed. I still think these pics are too bland to be released as advertisement for a new graphical change, but that has more to do with marketing than the game itself.

I have to agree that the mage robes are finally at least a bit more stylish. I'm quite interested in visiting that city shown in two of the latter screenshots.

That enviroment looks pretty good. Much better than the others.

The better variety of colors makes it look a bit more appealing, but it's still just as blurry and undetailed as the rest of the shots.

I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but if there's any reason for me to want them to improve their graphics, it's just to throw it back in the face of overreacting fans.

Sorry, I call it the way I see it and ALL I've seen thus far is a ridiculous, over the top, so called new and improved "style" that looks like pure crap.

The "style" is NOT going to change!

You might get some slightly better looking environments, but the god awful designs and look with an intended defined "minimalist" approach to the whole look and feel of the graphics, as stated by the Art Director...how much do you "really" think it's going to change???

Hope you like feathers lol

(would be funny if it weren't so sad and appalling)

Well, they had to think of something new because if the game is going to be as big as DAO then they have only 2 choices:



1. Have de same crappy graphics as DAO had (seriusly, DAO is far from the best looking game out there)

2. A new graphic style that doesnt take as much room on the disk. I think thats why they went with the cartoon/anime style.



You can't put just as much stuff on a DVD as you want. You can't have a game that looks as good as Mass Effect but is as big as Baldur's Gate, on one disc. Unless they skipp XBox 360 and just release on PS3.

I think it will look bether when we se the trailer and se it i motion.

Nothing really; just interesting how simple change in colour and pattern can make item go from "it sucks!" to "it's great" even though the shape is the same. Maybe there's hope for the repainted mage hats to be the next best thing in the sequel, too.
