When I installed patch 1.04 I could not play the game. My game would crash while only playing for a very short time and it was acting slow.

This is how I fixed it

1. Uninstall adobe air (Control panel add and remove software)

2.Restart your computer

3.Install dragon age patch 1.04 again

4. Let adobe air install from the patch (DON'T UPDATE IT)

You shouldint have any more problems. This will only work for some people.

Hope this helps Posted Image

Didn't work for me. As reported above, I still hit an audio loop and had the blue screen of death and automatically rebooted after a memory dump. This was with a new character during a conversation right after starting.

It could all be driver problems as well try updating your video card driver. Like I said it works for some and not for others.

I'm wary, but I did give this a shot. I went an hour or so without a crash (whereas I've CTD'd within 15 minutes), occasional slowdowns towards the end of the Orzammar questline (open spaces, lava, giant uglies in particle heavy fights) but didn't crash. I'll try to post again when I've had some more time to play.

Its funny you should mention Adobe air - as by chance it updated itself a couple of days before the 1.04 patch release when I ran the EA download manager for a completely different reason.

I was getting crashes and other glitches that were introduced by 1.03 and the 1.04 patch cleared all the main crashing I was getting, mana clash, to many spells at once and some random crashes all stopped with the 1.04 update.
I did have to completely uninstall DA, delete all folders then reinstall but since then its been fine, its possible Adobe air fixed it, but who knows for sure.

I just hope your right and it fixes alot of the problems others are having.

System:
Windows Vista 64bit
Intel Q9550 Quad
6 Gig Ram
Nvidia GTX 285 driver 197.45 WHQL
Creative Labs Xi-Fi Extreme Audio - latest driver

Heya all, the other day i posted an angry angry note of which im ashamed .... i wish to apologize, just at that particular moment i was beyond mad. Now that thats out of the way ill tell you all what i did to solve my issues with the constant CDT's i was dealing with, completely uninstalled all Steam elements, INCLUDING steam itself, reloaded, let it install all DA elements and ive had ZERO, count'm ZERO crash's!! NOW .....i CANNOT say..... this will work for everyone, but it was my savior. I surely hope this helps and im sure a full reinstall is not what everyone wants to hear worked but ...... there it is, GL and holler if i can help with any questions. p3ace out.

THE damn DLCS before are not recongizing the patch.1.04
They should have done their homeworking (who ever made the patch to see it the dlc would play on it)

If you have any authorization issue with DLCs under 1.04 when you try to load a savegame immediately after game launch, try the following steps:

1. from main menu, check that you are logged in then select Downloadable Content
2. if you see your DLCs on a green background, proceed to step 7
3. wait for Point Balance to be updated
4. close panel
5. click again Downloadable Content
6. this time you should see your installed DLC on a green background and the Points Balance in update mode again
7. wait for Points Balance to be updated. If you still see any DLC on a green background, return to step 4
8. close panel and load your saved game.
You only have to proceed this way on your first savegame load after DA:O launch. Once this is done, you can directly load savegames during the same session.
