As soon as I click on play or configure it stops working. Yes i know lots of people have posted about this,  but nothing works for me.  Here's my system info + what I've tried sao far

Mass effect - PC version

Physical Disk Version.
 

System Details

 I7 920 / 4 cores @ 3.9gig / 6 gig RAM                                            
GTX 295 - Driver =  8.17.12.5721                                           
Sound max interagted HD sound (PT6 deluxe v2 MB) Drivers = 6.10.26530
Vista 64 bit.

What I've tried so far is -

1)I'd already set my user account to full control,  but even so I've tried to run as admin. No luck
2)Running as XP or any other compat mode is no luck.
3)Disabled UAC altogether and still no luck
4)Uninstaller/Reinstalled

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

Check that all your drivers are up to date, especially your graphics driver. If it is, then try installing an older version of the drivers. I have had issues where I needed to upgrade or downgrade my graphics driver to play ME.



Oh, and I am on Win 7 64bit Pro w/ a Geforce 9800 GTX+ and the both ME1 & Me2 play great.
