minor spoilers, at the end dof the game in Denerim, you find him, completely fine, surrounded by corpses (quite a few darkspawn ones at that)
so why not?

Hawke: your quite good at killing darkspawn!
Sandal: ENCHANTMENT!
Hawke: would you like to join me in my quest for world domination?
Sandal: ENCHANTMENT!
Hawke: ill take that as a yes, lets go!
Sandal: good, my evil plans are coming to fruition

Sandal is amusing as a side character, but I don't think I'd want him as a party member. Aside from making almost no sense unless you read something into Sandal being surrounded by bodies, "Enchantment" is his only line is only amusing for so long. I think he's fine in the role he's in.

That´s why Sandal should be a partymember. Whenever the difficulty is too hgh, you call him and he´ll ENCHANTMENT!!! everything dead.

And no, I don´t take the Maker as replacement. The Maker stinks.

Okay, MAYBE we should have a Sandal item like Sir Pounce-A-Lot, that you can use ONCE in the game. Sandal waddles onto the battle field and "Enchantment!?" and all the monsters head explodes lol

In all seriousness, no.  Sandal's fine as he is. 

But in happy alternate universe land, hell to the yes.  Screw the Maker--who needs the Maker when you've got Sandal and his powers of ENCHANTMENT on your side?  Sandal is the only one who can unmake the Maker.

Sir Pounce-a-Lot revives dead people in battle. I play on Easy so I only used it once lol.

Oh, I put Sir Pounce A Lot on my skill bar and clicked it to get him to revive people.
