In the new concept art that was recently revealed, we see a man casting a spell.  What I didn't realize is that he is in another of the pieces of art.  This article talks about it just a little bit.  http://gameinformer....characters.aspx

I know we have a thread talking about the concept art, but I thought the character was a seperate issue.

Who is he? Friend, foe, companion, nemesis, villain?

He's a Sith Lord? Don't know about him, but that spell/talent looks cool.

They certainly look similar...but there are some differences--the staff/halberd thing the top one's using seems to be different from the other's. The top one seems to be wearing robes, and the bottom one is wearing armor.

Hm...I have no idea. They could be the same person, certainly, or they could also not. In any case, I want a mage weapon that does that.

I still think it's the same person; the outfit is and the difference between the weapons is really minimal. I wonder if he's some sort of nasty mage (perhaps exiled from Tevinter or something) that's trying to raise Arlathan or something. I know, my imagination may be running away from me lol.

Makes sense to me. That would be confusing.  Besides, isn't this guy a little dark for Hawke?  The iconic Hawke seems much less sinister-looking.

If they did indeed say that, then that probably applies more to things like screenshots and box art; I would doubt they're going to place such restrictions on concept art.

Unlikely.

My guess is it's another companion.
