During certain side quests where I have to enter houses, facilities etc on planets (so far I know of the houses on Luna and the Cerberus underground facility on Nepheron.

As soon as I enter the building and the load screen comes up, the game freezes and I have to use the task manager to close it. Or, I get some kind of error message which contains a lot of numbers and other symbols.

How can I fix this, because it prevents me from doing certain side quests!

It's PC with a disc.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz
Video card: Radeon X1650
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
Direct X: 10 or 9, I'm really not sure.

Sound Card Driver Version: 4.34 (again, numbers please)

"  c. Sound Adapter / Driver Version

  d. Operating System (&
service pack if applicable)

  e. Direct X Version "

I don't see anything yet, and don't know that adding these will allow me to do anything, but it could help SOMEBODY spot something while reading it . .

If in doubt, go into the ME Configuration Utility, go to file and save a report. Paste its contents here, and that should give us all the system info we need.

The forums are slow in summer, and ME-1 is pretty old now, so that's meant fewer people in here as well; the added data might help, if the right person comes by!  If you will go to the "Run" choice from the Start Menu, and run the DxDiag program (just type in dxdiag and press enter), the driver numbers and dates should show up on the matching tabs there.

P. S.  If I'm having to tell YOU this, it almost certainly means you are out of date on every driver you are using!

My computer is certainly out of date, I'm going to update it in a couple of days (when the town's computer centre bothers to open up again).

But there is no need for further help. Suddenly this issue simply vanished. It doesn't appear anymore. But thank you for taking your time!

You have to use dialup from home or something?  I have the "Standard Combo Pack" of cable TV, 'Net, and landline telephone, which is expensive enough already, but the version of "broadband" that I get isn't much to write plaudits for.  That's mostly why I don't buy digital copies of games, or DLCs.  One thing I always do with video drivers is just get the "plain" drivers only, which makes the download smaller (you do know better than just accepting whatever Microsoft has in its libraries as sufficiently recent, correct?)
