I don't think Jaheira is in the same category of Aribeth, Bastila, and Morrigan. She wasn't a face of the Baldur's Gate series or important to the plot in any way whatsoever. I honestly don't get the hate myself. Actually, scratch that, I do. People seem to hate her because she actually has the guts to speak her mind to the PC. It's like Alistair's behavior during the Landsmeet. "You *dare* have a mind of your own?! Get back in line slave!" Jaheira may be pushy and tactless at times, but at least she isn't foolish or a total jerk. I always felt Jaheira hate was as overblown as Minsc love.

But seriously, I always thought that aspect of her personality was poorly written. Many of Jaheira's reactions in quests come across as neutral good, but because 2e druids had to be true neutral she was forced into the alignment and had this annoying reaction to positive reputation. A goodly Charname brought harmony back to troubled areas rather than spreading disorder. A TN druid should have been cool with that. Cernd was a much better representation of a druidic mindset in my opinion. That said, he came across as wonky too because apparently being known as heroes meant being out of balance. It was one of those things that makes me glad BG's reputation system is gone.

I can't fault you for feeling that way given how Jaheira is presented at times in the series. I just think it's extreme considering Bastila, Morrigan, and Alistair were not only opinionated, but fairly abrasive about expressing those opinions if you didn't emphatically agree. Jaheira makes a few canned comments like everyone else, and questions your judgment a handful of times throughout the whole game. It just feels blown out of proportion to me.

That had more to do with Anomen being an emotionally unstable loon if if he failed his test. Jan Jansen and Haer'dalis were chaotic neutral too, and neither of them attacked party members after slight provocation. One day I'll have to actually finish ToB with a CN Anomen, come to think.

That had more to do with Anomen being an emotionally unstable loon if if he failed his test. Jan Jansen and Haer'dalis were chaotic neutral too, and neither of them attacked party members after slight provocation. One day I'll have to actually finish ToB with a CN Anomen, come to think.

I don't think it's possible, while it is possible to not kill him yourself, it's hard to prevent your other party members from killing him once he starts, I have yet to have him survive to the end of SoA once he went CN ... though I admit I never made it an actual goal to keep him alive on the games where I let him fail his test, either.
