Well, Bodhi was a decent villian, at least (not as good as Irenicus) but certainly less annoying than Aerie despite sidetracking me with a vampire cure quest and making me lug around Anomen's body..

.... though I did use the console cheat to put Rhianna's and Aerie's baby in my pack once

Since Yoshimo got his just rewards I haven't really been out to hurt anyone, I mostly just said that to be funny.

Well, Aerie's name pretty much describes her personality, too.

Let's put it in this equation :
Jowan's whining multiplied by Alistair's whining = Aerie's whining divided by 10 million. 
Hope that brings the point of Aerie hate. Not to mention she's dull... boring... and on a side note I hate elves.
Reminded me of Liara, although Liara didn't whine that much (didn't whine at all actually).

Personally, since I'm no longer with a horse in this fight (I'm replaying BG1 with the BG1 NPC Project, which has made me no longer hate Imoen and Anomen's already gone) I figured it was Aerie's turn, mostly because she's so annoyingly whiny (I figured it was silly to vote up Gromnir just because I liked his namesake.)

Though I'll join Sylvius in stating that if Xan was in the game, I'd be throwing all my support behind him.  I don't know who wrote his romance in the BG1 NPC Project, but it's really excellent (apart from the spelling mistakes, which really bug me.)

I liked Bodhi as a villain. I just thought she had the same flaw Irenicus had. Irenicus had layers to his background and reasons for his actions, but as far as personality goes, was a one-note villain. Bodhi was the same, except she showed more personality. They're on equal footing with me in that both are easy to hate and spout some memorable lines but otherwise felt flat. Sarevok had more of an impact on me than either of them. That said, Bodhi had very little development whereas Aerie had a considerable amount and eventually overcomes the worst of her early flaws.

Your equation has a fallacy. It presumes I found Jowan's whining annoying, when I didn't. I didn't feel too deeply for the guy during the mage origin, but never found his whining intolerable in the brief time he was around. My dislike of Alistair had less to do with his whining specifically than it did his boyish immaturity. I could actually bring myself to romance Aerie through all of BG2 and ToB. I can't even make a character knock boots with Alistair. It's that revolting a thought to me. While erie's voice does have a whiny quality to it, she stops being so by the end of SoA. She's right up there with Valygar, Nalia, Anomen, Viconia, and Sarevok, in that she actually grows as a person. Whereas other characters such as Edwin, Korgan, Keldorn, Mazzy, Minsc, and so on remain static from beginning to end.

I find Aerie criticism is often hyperbolic and rarely takes into account her overall development. I don't find her very similar to Liara either. Aerie is a do-gooder who is closer to a theologist than a scientist. Liara doesn't share her strong sense of benevolence, and her keen interest in archaeology is very different from Aerie's occasional philosophical or romanticized musing.

@Vaeliorin - I never used that mod but what little we get of Xan in vanilla BG1 was enough for me to like the guy. His neverending pessism was amusing.

@I_Raps - Touché. However, I will note Aerie is more than her name while Ribald is not.

PHASE 2: HURT OR HEAL

Each
player on their turn has 4 points to spend. These points can be used to
hurt a character on the list, heal a character, or any combination of
the two, as long as the player spend no more than 4 points. There are no
limits to how high a character can get this round, though once at 0 a
character is eliminated.

Each player may take a turn once every 12 hours!

This round will end on August 6 at 9:30AM EST/GMT-4.
