I'm curious because that small village (forgot the name) got destroyed after I completed the Circle Tower.
So I'm curious if any other towns/villages gets destroyed the further along I am on the main quest, or if I tarry doing side-quests? Or only that small village gets destroyed by the Blight?
Is there any urgency in completing the main quest?

Sadly, No.
It would have been nice if at certain decision points it would advance or things happen. In redcliff you can choose a course of action that supposedly has days of delay, yet no time changes there.

Yeah I was worried about that, as Lothering was destroyed when I went to Denerim. I'm still in the "Big City" and was going to head to where the url is supposedly located (forgot the name of that town but its near Ostagar.)

Though I noticed, at least on the Xbox version, there's this black shadow on the map coming up from the wilds to encompass Lothering and seems to slowly stretch up the middle of Ferelden.

Hmm. I didn't notice that. I'll have to pay more attention. I've got the PC version.Ariella wrote...

The shadow moves on the map but time everywhere else appears to be stopped if you aren't there. I only noticed more random darkspawn encounters as I traveled and less bandits, but could just be coincidence.

No one ever said the Blight was cleanly organized. I'm sure the horde likes to enjoy it's pillaging and destruction when they take a town. It's not like they get to do that very often.

Lothering is destroyed after you finish your first story area.
But beyond that, there doesn't seem to be any time limit. Which is good. I hate games that limit how long I can play.
The black shadow does move across your map. Every time you finish a story area, it expands.
