Also, he's a workaholic. Who answers forum posts at this hour?

those who don't live on a mountain

And those who don't live in Britain! It's like 7am here. Which leads me to - shouldn't YOU be asleep?

I was a bit sad that the plot that delved more into his motivations got cut. Lamentable part of game development, I'm afraid. That was part of the motivation behind going more into it in the Stolen Throne. Overall, yes, I'm very happy with how he turned out. I prefer villains who do things because they believe they are right-- in my opinion, that's exactly the sort of villain you're bound to find in real life.

Then I´m surprised you liked his presentation in the game. Personally, I found it was clear since Ostagar that he´s the monster that´s going to get killed sooner or later.

Only after I read The Stolen Throne I could appreciate him as an interesting person who has more to contribute to the story than being a sort of "mini-endboss" and understandable motivations, and frankly I´m a bit disappointed with how Loghain was shown in the game.

I would love to read a book before DA2 comes out that would offer some background for some of the characters we might encounter and a glimpse of the new world we are going to explore.

Would love to see you develop your prose-writing skills. I really, really enjoyed the DA books, and like I said, I'm a very tough critic.

Thanks. I'd love to write more books, but we shall see whether or not that happens. We have a pretty short development cycle on DA2 (as you can see) so time really is the limiting factor, here. Maybe someone else might write some DA novels, who knows?

Mary Kirby should write one.  <3

Or  both of them should do a dual story - Mary and David.  I sometimes like when two authors write as yuo get a nice flavor between the characters and narrative.

I would buy more books from either of them.

I wonder how a book written by Priestly would look like, probably it would have at the bottom of every page an evil grinning devil face.

Since we are talking about the books, I have been very confused on the ending to which Fiona presents Maric with his son. I am confused as to whether this child is allistair or another child. Considering Alistair believes that his mother was a maid in the king's palace to which Goldanna was his sister, it doesn't line up with the Dragon Age: Origins story line, since they were written at about the same time as the game was being developed I wonder if this is not a mistake but a cover-up tactic through Duncan. Duncan was supposed to be the guardian of the child, and yet Arl Eamon took care of Allistair. This makes me wonder.

While you're here David, I'm wondering, do
you like how Loghain turned out? In your books, he was an interesting
character who was patriotic but he turned quite paranoid and quite an
ass, would you say he's one of your favourite characters?

It does make villains more realistic if they do things because they believe they are right, but it doesn't necessarily make them a better villain. Sometimes the best villains are ones you can't understand.

I can't speak for David but I think Alistair is not Fiona's son.   I mean she gave the boy to Duncan and said she did not want him to know he was Meric's son and have a "normal" life.  Well if Alistair is her son Duncan failed hard at all those things.  First Alistair always knew he was Merics kid.  And then Duncan made him a Warden.  If you read The Calling I think Fiona would not want her son to be one.

You must live in a wonderful world, where your books (or any other fantasy stuff beyond LotR, Harry Potter and Twilight, for that matter) are to find in a library. Where I live this is impossible.
And I´m not even sure if they are available in German at all, I ordered them in the internets in english.

Well that much I can answer-- they are indeed available in German. I just received my copy of "Der Ruf der Grauen Wächter" yesterday.
