Are you sure about that? Outside the fade, demons have no discernable shapes and while in the fade their form is
a projection of their feelings, emotions, thoughts, or whatever.

Are you forgetting desire demons?

I thought desire demons could take on different forms too...
If you look at the codex's desire demon entry it says "It took on a form that I would call female, though I had no
doubt that it could appear otherwise."

We have seen hunger demons, they take over corpses, and they're probably those shadows that cross over, since they're weak demons and they never tell us what kind of demons they are.

Also, please stop making fade spirits to look like shining armors and give them unique appearances you lazy devs.

Hmmm, well if they can change forms then why do they appear the same to both genders?

Programming :)

And whoever said that you wanted to fight a stronger demon - "A greater pride demon, brought across the veil, would threaten the entire world" so that could easily play into DA2

Sloth Demon - In the fade

Desire Demon - Connor, Herren, fade, etc.

Rage Demon - In fade and summoned often

Pride Demon - Uldred, Deep Roads, Baroness

Hunger - Only shown as abominations, not the demon itself

But you do see him transform, and what you see of him is clearly a pride demon. Besides, the Asunder quest didn't seem to be an abomination.

What you see is a physical monster that could well be the embodiment of pride, but I don't think it's right to say that any fade demon has a form. The entire subtext of the fade is that it is nonphysical, and the only thing that exists is the will. All other things are built by it. A pride demon is merely a thing that has will and that copies pride to experience the mortal coil.

Can somebody refresh my memory, I remember the sloth, desire and rage demons but what were the hunger and pride demons?

I think Hunger was just a corpse (cannot remember) however I cant remember what pride was.

Remeber Uldred that guy that turns into that big demon thing in the broken circle quest? That big demon thing was pride.

Ah ok thanks.

However I did see someone mention Mouse however does anyone think we will ever see him again? Also what is the go with Master Wade and his demonic buddy Herren? Do you think we will see them again? I know it is a bit off topic but while we are on the subject I thought I might ask.

Huuh? Am I missing something here? I played through DAO and awakening but not DLCs, and I dont remember anything about Herren being a demon??

Fade in Awakening alot more fun than main game. Hopefully no lame choppy-up rescue friends crap.

The 5 fade demons types in DA:O match 5 of the 7 deadly sins.

Rage=Wrath
Hunger=Gluttony
Sloth=Sloth
Desire=Lust
Pride=Pride

The final 2 sins missing are Envy and Greed.  In the Mage Origin of DA:O the pride demon mentions the worst thing that people have of the fade is the misconception.  People might think that the pride demon is the strongest, which would be a big misconception if Envy and Greed turn out to be stronger.

Sloth demons already have taken "Envy". I guess Hunger = Greed. But I am not sure.

I'd rather see unique graphics for the Hunger and Sloth demons (tho I think Sloth demons prolly don't by design have such, being shapeshifters and all)... Perhaps also variation between the "lesser" and "greater" demon graphics, since the power level of individual demons can seemingly vary so much, the Sloth demon in the Circle tower ruling over weaker Desire and Pride demons being a good example.

OT: Honestly, I'd like to see the sort of moral ambiguity we saw in the Mage origin. A sloth demon with something to teach, if you trick him into it. We saw several demons who tried to trick you, or who were willing to make deals to save themselves. But the sloth bear gave you something for nothing, and that was kind of cool in its own way. The Fade sequence in the return to the Circle was, IMO, kind of badly handled. (Not only because it magically worked on dwarves, which was something of a plot wtf.) But I would like to see some short Fade sequences with the protagonist not knowing whom to trust... where the demon could be helpful, if handled correctly. :)
To respond to the original question: I believe that Envy and Greed may have been lumped into Desire and Hunger.

Dwarves can be forced in to the Fade they dont go there when they sleep though :)

Hunger is not gluttony, not exactly. Read the codex on hunger demons, and it will be explained.

And no, we have never seen the "true" form of hunger demons. Sloth is up in the air, but it seems like the sloth demon in the Fade mentions something about his true form, or taking you on himself, or something like that, which could imply that the last form is his true form.

I thought in Awakening, while in the Fade, you go down the crypt area and the mourning women turns into a hunger demon? When you kill it she thanks you for freeing her.

Yeah, you encounter a Hunger Demon in the Fade portion of Awakening. Can't for the life of me recall what it looked like, even though I just played through Awakening again over the weekend...

The Baroness was another example of a Pride demon, and looked exactly like the one from the Mage Origin and Uldred.

that one 's called Ash Wraith, I think. Don't exactly remember the codec, but it seem related to Andraste's ash quest. Maybe it's a hunger demon after all, which has a big mouth to devour things..:D

I'd like to see demons representative of Envy and Greed, but I think the Pride demon was referring to the misconceptions of what demons look like, therefore accepting "mouse" to be harmless because he didn't "look" like a demon or a threatening entity overall.

I believe that even if there were Envy and Greed demons, Pride demons would still be the strongest because pride represents ego. Real "goodness" stems from compassion, and the enemy of compassion is excessive ego. Image IPB
