^^^ Similar to what Soteria mentioned. In one occasion I had a difficult time wanting to substitute Morrigan's Ring/Wedding Ring for the higher tier rings such as Lifegiver/Keys to the City because of my sentimentality. What can I say? I'm a big ole' softy. And while not necessarily superstitious, what is definitely compulsive is my irrational need to have the killing blow on all bosses. I'M THE GODDAMN GRAY WARDEN!!! MY KILL!!!
...wow, sorry about that.

I'm with so many others, I like to keep something from my origin story -- ring, weapon, shield, something. I think there's something poignant about the Wardens remembering where they came from.
Some other things I do just for practicality's sake, such as setting up quickbars in a particular order and having potions to the far right. I also group things such as sustaineds, cone attacks, area of effect spells, poisons and so on. I keep the attacks I'm most likely to use in the first five quick slots because they're the easiest to hit during battle without having to pause and search.
Other than these things, I don't really have any good luck tokens or rituals that I follow.

I have this habit of making polar opposites of characters I create. For example I made a mage who despises the chantry, however, he is cruel and mean in general. By the end of the game he was the only one alive(excluding Morrigan who left). He has black hair and reddish eyes, and a black tattoo.
His polar opposite I made is a warrior, and a templar(you start to see the polar opposites here) who isn't fond of mages. He is a good person in general and does what he can to help in the name of the Maker. He has blonde hair and bluish eyes, and a blue tattoo.
I also usually make their names deal with one another. The mage's name is Dracul(relating to dracula) and my templar's name is Abraham(abraham van helsing, slayer of dracula).
