I think somewhere in the game we will come across some revelation that makes us look differently onthe Reapers cycle and possibly see it as a good thing (depending on what it is we discover) and we are given the choice to stop the Reapers or let the cycle continue.

This. i think it will be something to do with the black matter and stars exploding. Say, reapers during their cycle of harvest - they do something to stars (kind of recharge them) stopping them from turning into supernovas. And it has to do with their reproduction cycle. Thus the derelict reaper - he's in the dead star - and who's to say there aren't any more reapers inside other stars. maybe the reapers were created by the stars themselves - and stars are kind of sentient, and they use reapers to harvest all life and to feed them, keep them going.

Stars are sentient. hmm...

Well, Tim's star does change color after the base blows up. I knew something fishy was going on with it.

Yeah, it's like the scars on shepard's face... wtf was up with that? Made no sense at all.  /rant

destroy the Mass Relays and trap the Reapers in dark space (as well as isolating everyone) or using dark energy to destroy them (and lose half of the known galaxy)

bah, earth is over-populated, I say nuke it.

In terms of the choice I think is going to be something like:
-Sacrifice yourself.
-You save yourself but lose something (or someone) important.

This.

Though a sacrfice would've been more meaningful if Shepard hadn't already died, since if Bioware ever decided they wanted to continue his story they could just pull another LoLazarus project.

Shepard dies, or he sacrifices Jacob.

.....the choice is easy.

Shepard: Miranda.. prepare the equipment.
Miranda: What are you doing, Shepard?
Shepard: Stopping the reapers.. no matter the cost.
Miranda: You mean..
*Shepard nods*
Wrex: You can't, Shepard. We're warriors, we fight to the death - not sacrifice ourselves.
Shepard: Wrex...
*Shepard tears up and walks down the coridoor and blows himself up alongside the Reapers*
*Shepard wakes up from the Lazarus Project 2.0*
Wrex: Well.. I guess there's always that.

Halfway through, you either kill TIM or the Council.

I hate the idea of a decision where you may have to sacrifice your LI.

Me too, and a lot of other people as well, I'm sure. Which is why I'm afraid BioWare might go this route.

Someone mentioned the idea of sacrificing yourself to save your squad. While that would be a compelling choice, I wonder how that would be supported given the DLC likely to come release, unless they somehow change the way that ME2 lets you keep playing after beating the game. I do think that some weighty decisions will involve which of your squadmates/major NPCs to save.

Keep the Reaper technology or destroy it.

Since ME3 is the last one Bioware can go crazy about the decisions since they dont have to carry it over anymore. I hope it gets big

Here is an idea. Hack the reapers and create a unstoppable fleet for humanity or destroy them with many human casualties.

Unleashing the zerg swarm on the galaxy and facing those consequences after they deal with the reapers, or fight the reapers but every race in the galaxy will have a population lowered to 1 billion.

My guess is human domination or decimation; aka humanities strength is significantly increased/decreased based upon Shepard's actions during the finale.

*Dark Matter. Not Black Matter. In reality we only know so much as Matter, Anti-Matter, Dark Energy and Dark Matter. Dark Matter consists of 90% of our Universe. No idea where you got the vocational use of "Black Matter"?...

On a side note, BioWare is not going to drop the Mass Effect Universe, only Shepard's story. They'll likely use the Mass Effect lore in future Virtual Reality games, making use of this story is almost as outlandish as staying in your house for weeks on end playing a VR game. That's why its so scary how VR gaming can potentially disrupt society (never leaving the game because of lack of interest in the 'real' reality).

And if ME VR games come out, I will more than certainly buy this game over anything else. This is one game you'd want to be as your virtual reality. Definitely compels to me.
