What did he do wrong to you in the first game?

I play Paragon all the way and the Shadow Broker is the one that tipped off the Batarians who Thane was (thus, having Thane's wife killed) and as much as I may not care for Liara, my Shepard makes sure to help out his friends; and Liara happens to be one.

That answer may not satisfy you, and if it doesn't, then I'm sorry that it doesn't.

I loved Liara as a character. Happy that a DLC worth buying is coming out.

Holy Jesus...

THANKS BioWare! Seriously, guys, no sarcasm, just thanks.

I must admit however that for Ashley/Kaiden fans out there it must seem strange and unjust, but I also wonder what was the reaction of Alistair/Morrigan/Zevran fans when the DLC focused on Leliana was announced, it must have been similar I guess. It just so happens that I love Liara (I mean my FemShep does, although my MaleShep went with Ashley in ME1 and then changed to Tali in ME2). The thing is as much as I would like that DLC to give us Liara fans some romance moments with her I'm pretty sure that it just won't happen and that it will concentrate on the Shadow Broker, but that's fine, in fact I can't wait to see the bastard(s) who wanted to sell my body to the Collectors, and just being able to finally FIGHT with Liara is worth buying it.

And, for crying out loud guys, I mean... look at the picture of Shepard, Garrus, Tali and Liara together, isn't THAT giving you a warm ME1 feeling right there? It's well overdue for me, just like old days, it also just so happens that most of the time in ME1 my team consisted of Garrus/Wrex, Tali/Liara (I very rarely went anywhere with Kaiden or Ashley). Finally, we'll get to know more about the Shadow Broker. Additionally, what I find interesting in the screen-shots so far released is that it looks like we'll be fighting the Vorcha and the Geth... first time I see those together, well maybe they won't actually fight us together in the same rooms, perhaps they're completely separate levels, that's certainly a possibility, time will tell I guess, still in the meantime I just find that interesting, those Geth must be the Heretics I'd presume.

Anyways... again, BioWare, guys, please let me repeat myself again, THANK YOU!

I would laugh so hard if she died at the conclusion of the Shadow Broker DLC.

Though I am decidedly a Tali fan, I am interested in digging up one of my old Liara playthroughs to play this. Should be cool. I'm okay with it focusing on Liara, even more okay if it doesn't.

Hey, who knows maybe it will make her interesting finally.

I wonder if the mission even plays out differently if you're flagged as having done the Liara romance, because then they really would need to address the fact you're flagged for an ME2 romance.

Noooo, I was hoping the next dlc would be something related to fixing the Adept like Christina Norman hinted, I've been anticipating it ;_;

I hope this focuses on revealing some things about the Shadow Broker more than Liara. She's as boring as Jacob, I don't care which fanboys I upset.

Re: Disappointment for Ashley fans.

I understand, but you aren't the first guys to ever love a woman more than she loves you -- and to leave somebody who really loves you sidelined all the while.

You disappear. Liara goes looking for you at great personal risk and doesn't give up even when she discovers you're dead. Ashley goes on with her career and then chews you out when she sees you because you didn't call.

Even if my Shep had romanced Ashley, he'd cut her loose for Liara and never wonder about it again after learning what Liara did for him and after the chewing out he gets on Horizon. Ashley's married to the service and always will be.

Well no matter what this DLC should finally stop the:

"Who is teh Shadow Broker?!" or "T.I.M. is teh Shadow Broker!111"

Threads that we see every week. But the Shadow Broker is probably T.I.M. and wez gonna kill that thar evil sonuvabich YEEEE-HAAAA!

(On a serious note this DLC is rather intriguing since it could play out in a number of ways. The Shadow Broker could get away entirely, we might actually see the Shadow Broker, we might even kill the Shadow Broker, Liara could die, or Liara might become the next Shadow Broker... dun dun dun!)

I'm disappointed simply because the entire Ashley / Kaidan scene left bitter hatred in a lot of us (and it took like two minutes!) and then we'd (if romanced) recieve an email saying "sry i luv u tlk 2 u later". Liara had more air time and plot involved with in the game, excluding the entire comic series created to focus on her. Now we're getting a DLC entirely focused on the character that will tie up the loose ends and pretty much open the character for you to easily sweep off her feet and carry into the third game.

I'm not disappointed in that DLC itself, I'm just disappointed in what was done with the Ashley / Kaidan fans. Regardless of romance or not, those two characters were ignored because of their "Killable" status in ME1 while Liara is deeply explored because she had plot immunity (still does, infact!) and I feel we're only going to get shafted again in Mass Effect 3.

Who wants to bet, even though the only reason why Liara won't help you fight the collectors is the shadow broker, even after you defeat the Shadow Broker, Bioware will come up with some bull**** reason for Liara why she STILL won't help you?

Either we won't find Feron and she'll still be looking for him even though chances are he's dead because it's been two years or she'll find the Shadow Broker's data and take their place.

I want to find Feron and see Liara throw herself at him impulsively right in front of Shepard, but both could happen.  Don't lose hope.  For those who want to see her in 3/fight for her, save her at the end of the mission, everyone else can 'accidentally' let her die...

So what if you romanced liara in ME1. Then miranda in ME2 then do this DLC after the collector base. Will Liara just be happy youre helping her and not be upset you banged a chick with a bigger rack?

I'm seeing alot of people point out that it's an "expansion" other than just another DLC drop.

Is there anything solid behind that, if so badass, or is it just the hopes of Liara fans?

Make it a free DLC BW!

If its an Expansion though, ok, doesn't have to be free.

Ok, this excites me.

I agree with some that have said this should only take place post suicide mission. That way Liara can be a part of your crew at the end of this mission. If they do this right it will make a great in between story.

I figured in ME3 the beginning would feature Liara and the Shadow Broker story in some form. I'm fine with Bioware taking care of it now and giving us this. More time for other stuff in ME3.

The Shadow Broker mission was going to happen one way or another. Might as well give it to us now.
