I just find it hilarious how many dozens of people swore blind this wasn't coming. "So what there's files in the game called 'Liara_DLC'? So what that that's how we found out about Kasumi? It's all just made up rumours."

Haha, anyone who saw that and is still surprised by this needs their heads testing. I'm just amazed BioWare stayed so silent on the issue for so long, when it was obvious from launch what the intent was. I mean, they could at least have given the files innocuous names on the disk or something, if they really wanted to keep their secrets secret.

I agree,. The same with the Mass Effect expansion issue. Adrian Cho and Casey Hudson both said that the game will have Full Campaign Expansions, but people still don't believe it  unless it comes in the form of an announcement. Image IPB It's moments like this when you get to rub it in their faces...

Do you by any chance remember the interviews?  I would love to watch in all seriousness.  I'm not doubting, but would like to see for myself.

Sure. There were 2 interviews and also info from a microsoft quiz.

"Downloadable content was always on our radar from day one. The team's actually been transitioning some members into creating DLC content already. What I can say is that we're going to be offering a lot more range of content from maybe a weapon, a new gun to new armours, new helmets, side quests up to full expansion packs. So a lot more variety to keep players engaged. For someone who wants a new weapon, they can have one, but I'd want more hours for the Mass Effect universe and those are going to be in the pack."

"The Expert Zone quiz says Mass Effect 2 will have “planned episodic combat via DLC,” new weapons, armor and characters for the “campaign experience,” new downloadable worlds, and “full campaign expansions for download.”

Source: http://scrawlfx.com/...n-expansion-dlc

There was another interview with Casey Hudson, said pretty much the same thing as Adrian Cho, but that they will have full capmaign expansions that will bridge the story, Me2 >> ME3. I'm on my new PC atm, and don't have access to my old computers bookmarks. When I get on though I'll update the post with the link to the Casey Hudson interview. But so far, we have at least 3 "evidences" pointing to an expansion. If these sources aren't enough, then just wait for the inevitable announcement.

But let's not get this thrad off topic. Image IPB

Yup, and it'll happen! I recall a comment from a dev in a video interview somewhere (just a little pre-ME2 release) where he brought up things like visiting PALAVEN of all places. Of course, a planet like that (a homeworld, when other than the ruins of Tuchanka, and sort of the Migrant Fleet, we haven't been to one) would be perfect for a TRUE expansion pack type content (level bump up and all)

Yeah, I'm sure the expansion(s) will have new planets. At least, hopefully.

Javier is referring to the AR on Garrus' back being the same color as the new AR. If they are indeed the same, that means for sure the AR is not the Revenant as Shepard is the only person who can wield the Revenant.

I really don't think they look ANYTHING alike
The only likeness is in the Handle Design, but other than that, they're starkly different

Also, the MAIN proof that it is NOT the Revenant, is because Garrus is equipped with the Grey Assault Rifle in the screenshot

I don't know.  Garrus looks like he has an M-29 Incisor to me.

look on his back... though my guess is its just the vindicator

Okay then let's speculate on what these expansion packs will be about.

My belief is that one expansion might be created regarding the potential "Quarian Geth War part 2" that might occur in the close future. The Migrant Fleet is a little on edge in ME2 about this and they are preparing for the reconquest of their homeworld. This would allow A) A new campaign dedicated towards either the reconquering of this planet/ aftermath or a campaign focused on creating peace between the geth and the quarians. B) Opportunity to obtain new armor/ weapons from the war. (geth weaponry, new heavy weapons, quarian based armor) C) Teamate based problems (Tali vs. Legion, choosing a side, potential lose of teamates)

Some good ideas, the Quarian's do seem to play a vital role along with the whole event about the dying suns. But let's keep Javiers thread on topic and not divert it from the Liara DLC. Image IPB I don't have the CH interview now, but recall that he said the bridging DLC/expansions will be released closer to the release date of ME3. So we'll have a while. We can probably expect some ME2 expansion/ME3 coverage at next years E3.

I'm guessing before. They haven't started on post-game DLC yet.

After suicide mission, this because Overlord is already Between ME2 and ME3.

No it's not. Overlord is pre-suicide mission.

Good Point, I agree with you on this. The only problem I have with them making it available Pre-suicide mission is the fact that you do not meet Liara before Horizon. If this DLC is available, it better be available only after we can obtain Thane and Samara, or a time vortex will ensue (I.E. we have no idea where Liara is before going to Illium for the first time).

Haha found it! Image IPB It's not as straight forward as Mr. Cho's or the microsoft quiz confirmation, but it's still good info.

"It's tough to say how long we'll continue to do Cerberus Network in terms of the free content, for example. When you get Cerberus Network you get all this free stuff that's been released. On an ongoing basis we plan to have the whole spectrum, from a free item all the way up to paid stuff and potentially larger packs that tell a big portion of the story. And we want to do that in a way that connects 'Mass Effect 2' to 'Mass Effect 3.' I think we'll be pretty close to the release of 'Mass Effect 3' before we really start focusing on that as the next story."

Because if you quit cerberus as a paragon, in Overlord if you go the paragon route shepard says "TIM can fire me if he doesn't like it". Well how can you fire someone who doesn't work for you anymore? Bioware's doing the post-game DLC to bridge the story. Overlord doesn't bridge anything. It was merely a side quest.

I'm sure it will probably activate once your on the second disc, and probably do Liara's side quest first. :)

I went the paragon route in Overlord and sent Dr.Archers brother to Grissom Academy but my Shepard just pistol whipped him and never mentioned TIM.

Although I did save the Collector base.

If you don't do the paragon interrupt, he'll say it. But it would make sense for you if your still working for TIM post game. For people who aren't, not so much.

Yup.
I'd expect that we just got most of the pre-suicide mission stuff, and now we're only to mixture (though if this SB DLC is available pre-suicide mission, I'd be quite surprised), and as ME3 comes closer, we'll have pure post-suicide mission content to bridge the gap between both games.

I'd expect it to be availabe pre-suicide. Based on the audio files, if they kept some of them dialogue but updated them. But it could be post game, so who knows? Or maybe different outcomes based on if you play it post game, or pre suicide mission, much like Zaeeds loyalty mission outcomes, only larger.
