Sounds like the weapons pack will come out in August and Liara possibly in September.  Just speculating.

Hi everyone,

As Christina tweeted, some of the new guns you are seeing in those screens are not in the Lair of the Shadow Broker pack. They are in fact part of a different pack that will be released prior to Lair of the Shadowbroker - more details coming very soon. While this was simply intended to tease them I can see how it could be misleading, so I must apologize for that.

Thank you for that.  I know I appreciate it when devs and mods come on here to straighten things out.  :)

Lair of the Shadow Broker to have hot blue alien sex confirmed? :D

You are such a tease, Jarrett.
I am going to hate you sooo much if its not actually there.

Did the books mention something more about the Shadow Broker? How long does he/she/it exist in its current form?

I could use Alternate Appearance Pack 2 in the mean time.

The Shadow Broker is a group or individual with a powerful information network that makes use of 'agents' and mercenary groups to carry out its' deeds. Sorry if this seems irrelevant but it reminds me off the Patriots in MGS4.

A group that started off as a powerful faction of individuals with a vast information source with political pull, which then deteriated into a shell and then reborn due to the advancement of technology into a powerful AI network secretly being the force that keeps everything in the world in order.

I'm very intrigued by the nature of the Shadow Broker and hopefully this story delves into some of the backstory of it, or at least leads to similar confrontations with the entitity in ME3 so hopefully this does 'bridge' quite nicely with the finale of the series.

Sounds Deus-Exesque :D.

Hah! Never played the series although Human Revolution looks cool, a good reason to start playing i guess.

The point im trying to make is that the AI concept is interesting as I think it embodies SB's 'personality' perfectly; an entity without any true form or face that can manipulate the galaxy from the shadows.

From a plot perspective it could potentially lead to further adventures against the SB and the forces it commands, the backstory is there with Redemption and the characters involved all play a part (Liara, Shepard, Miranda, Ferron, Aria etc.) if the ME2 bridging DLC revolves around the hunt for the Shadow Broker then I think its fair to say that we'd be in for quite the ride IMHO.

I'd like to echo ratzerman's sentiments, though. I hope that there is some kind of recognition of Shepard and Liara's romance dependant on the player, of course. The lack of exclusive Liara romance content in ME2 was very disappointing, and I like to think that was the case because her romance content was always intended to be tackled in this DLC. Again, I hope that Liara's romance is acknowledged and featured in this DLC. Thanks!

Yes,the Shepard/Liara romance wasn't even 'rocky' in ME2...it was just non-existent, for the most part.  This was disappointing to Liaramancers (including myself), but I hope there will be some recognition in the DLC.

I really don't need the 'blue alien sex', just some recognition of the romance would be nice.   :P

They're worth it, specially the first one. The story is great and the gameplay too.

And on this, I completely agree.

I'd like to throw in my 2 cents as well.

I know that not everybody romanced Liara, but for those of use who did. I think it would be a wonderful addition to add a romantic element to the DLC, even if its not a lot. The romantic content was sparse for ME1 LI's. I have faith it will be resolved properly. I just think the DLC would be a wonderful place to start. If you guys pull it off, I will be ecstatic! Thanks! Hey, didn't romance Liara, that's "your" choice. Not gonna get anything special, that's your consequence. I call it fair game.

I didn't romance her but I'd like to think that if I did, there would be some sort of recognition about it (and perhaps some small uncomfortable dialogue if you bring a new LI along...).

Are they going to add a DLC that will have Ashely or Kaidan then? It'd be pretty stupid to cater to only 1/3rd of the 'loyals'.

(Will Liara throw a hissy fit if you cheated?)

I wonder if tazzik will have a scaled up salarian skeleton or a whole new custom rig; being that's his one defining uniqueness 'n' all.
Then again, seems like a waste to custom build a whole new rig and character just for one mission.

I hope she reacts. After all, I'd hate to play a Shepard who moved on to Tali in ME2, to then play this DLC, and not only not get the chance to tell Liara that Shepard has moved on, but also kisses her against my will. That would be horrible, since you'd not only be screwing with Liara, but Tali as well. So I do hope they add something for that as well.

As for Ash/Kaidan, who's to say you won't get anything one day?

Lair of the Shadow Broker does, however, contain some *really* cool stuff we haven't revealed yet so stay tuned for more details as we head into August. And actually the very coolest part of the DLC (imho) will be something we absolutely won't reveal in the marketing or PR, to avoid spoiling it. I think most of you will find it to be our most satisfying DLC release yet for ME2.

Best Regards,

Jarrett

thank you very much for nipping some of these things in the bud...

You know, I'd really like to be excited about this, but I'm not.  As a big (huge) Liara fan I'd really like to be looking forward to anything to do with her, but I'm not.  Unfortunately no matter what "really cool" stuff you may or may not have in the DLC I'll be waiting to be spoiled anyway before I put down money on this thing.

You all did such an amazingly bad job with Liara in the main game that I won't even consider showing my support to BW by actually giving you money until I know the product is going to be worthwhile this time.  No matter what *really* cool stuff you might have in there, if the story around her and her characterizations are as bad as her part in ME2 was it just isn't worth it.

You guys really let all the Liara fans (and all the ME1 LI fans in general) down with ME2.  I'd like to say I hope this is a first of many steps in making up for that, but I'll wait and see what we actually get first.

Of course you weren't disapointed.

Because you are one of THEM!

Bad jokes aside: If Bioware manage to pull this one off. Then my faith in ME3 will be somewhat restored! I really hope they don't screw it up.

Captains cabin if she was your ME1 LI and you havent cheated/dumped her...

maby she is like tali, just standing infront of a console/sits at a desk etc...

Edit: when in the elevator, and checking the floor/deck list @ shepards cabin it stands Teammates: none... possible hint?

I don't know if she would appreciate being an office secretary if you isn't your LI.
Or worse.

"Hey Liara, I've invited Miranda up here. Take this video recorder and hide in the bathroom."

There is plenty of room ... in Shepards bedroom.

Other than that, they could place her in that small room between Mordins lab and the bridge or in the communication room (she could run her dirty businesses from there). Or she could be placed completely randomly like Kaidan in ME1.
edit: Another option would be med bay, she probably knows Chakwas by now and she has some medical skills (she did have first aid skill in ME1).
