i doubt strongly that she'll be a selectable squadmate, since there are only 2 dlc character slots that have been taken already. also, the list on http://masseffect.bi...e.com/universe/ doesn't include some characters that are actually in the game. (and the 2 characters that aren't mentioned there are probably meant as a surprise)

can somebody from bioware clear this up like with the guns? will she be a temporary squadmate, permanent one or no squadmate at all? the last seems most likely, because she is part of the four characters on the screenshot while the party can only have 2 squadmates, and there isn't any other character in the game that can follow you around like that.

also, anybody have a clue what this awesome feature could be that is mentioned by the bioware person on the previous page?

Guys, she is not on the ship for a reason, aka so she won't be killed on the suicide mission. And there is no point for her to be around afterwards because the game is over. Thus, she not going to be recruited. She's just a temp character if anything.

the shadow broker mission doesn't have to take place after the suicide mission.

While you may be right, I'm just trying to think of things that would REALLY make this DLC seem as awesome and SPOILERIFIC as Mr. Lee was stating.

Just think if by using this DLC you were allowed to unlock Liara for use in ME3 because you helped recruit her by eliminating the Shadow Broker.

Again, there's no point in having her on the ship after the suicide mission because there's nothing left to do besides more dlc missions. It'd also be unfair to Kaidan/Ash, since they're not on the ship. And this is dlc, which means It'd have to be canon that they joined after the mission. And guys, not everyone romanced Liara, so she's not going in your room.

there's also no evidence that the mission can only be done after the suicide mission. thus your whole "point" is void.

It was confirmed around the time Overlord was being marketed that there will be no more new squadmates. Liara wont be joining the squad, and Im glad. Im worried enough as is about this DLC ruling out her being a squadmate in ME3 without Bioware going back on the "ME1 LIs cant be killed in ME2, as they are important for ME3" by having her on the ME2 squad.

Heres a link pointing it out: http://www.1up.com/d...ory?cId=3179281

As far as Liara being recruitable or not, there could be a scenario in the DLC where Liara gives radio backup or perhaps goes on her own route through the level.

We have our 2 regular squaddies throughout, but towards the end we may end up separated from them we go solo and eventually meet up with Liara and faced with a final boss-like fight and we're able to briefly issue commands to Liara in combat.

And maybe 'cause of the deal we're granted a bonus talent from Liara depending on how it finishes.

But where would they put her in that case?
"Sorry Liara but all of the good spots are taken. Grab a tent and set yourself up in the cargo bay."

Captains cabin if she was your ME1 LI and you havent cheated/dumped her...

maby she is like tali, just standing infront of a console/sits at a desk etc...

Edit: when in the elevator, and checking the floor/deck list @ shepards cabin it stands Teammates: none... possible hint?

Ahhh, that's right. I always said to myself "Of course there won't be any squad members there. Why bother putting that?"

I never said that. I just said she can't be recruited, because they don't want her to die during the suicide mission. Same with Kaidan/Ash, because they want them alive in ME3 for plot reasons.

Some forumite has their own opinion on it, so it must be doubtful.

Here - not direct confirmation, but its Casey talking about how, with Zaeed and Kasumi, the squad is now "full", and future content will be more about expanding on these things, rather than introducing new stuff.

That satisfy you?

Edit: Listen from about 2:30 onwards.

Yeah, but why keep her around when there are no more main missions to complete, just possibly some N7 ones or other DLC?

She's not going to be a squad mate.  It's possible she could stay on the ship as a non-squad mate NPC after the DLC, but I highly doubt that...there wll be some reason that she cannot join Shepard yet again.

I can totally understand arguing against this, I mean I'd hate to get my hopes up and most of your points are valid.  But at the same time we're not sure if BioWare has changed their mind about more squadmates and we just don't have enough information about this DLC to make really good educated guess.  So the moral of the story is...MOAR INFO PLX!

any ideas on what this is?

i guess they could be refering to the identity of the shadow broker being the coolest part, but i doubt it. then what? some new gameplay feature, biotic power? what could it be?

I think I've got it all figured out. The Shadow Broker MUST be Conrad Verner. Think about it, who would ever suspect him of being the Shadow Broker? No one, that's what I thought.

/end sarcasm. Now even though that would be hysterical, I know it's impossible. I'm just thinking of some of the more hilarious characters the Shadow Broker could be. Heck, even Blasto being the Shadow Broker would be amazingly funny. Even funnier, the Shadow Broker could be the person you had to kill in Mass Effect 1. I would even get some giggles if it was Shi'ira, although out of all my joke characters she seems the most likely to actually be the Shadow Broker.

Anyway looking forward to the new DLC, both the weapons and the Shadow Broker.

Perhaps from this DLC we'll get that buff to biotics that Christina Norman hinted at earlier in the month.

I sincerely hope so. Especially if that buff allows biotics to actually affect things that have defenses still. With the exception of course being things like Harbringer, you know things that never get down to health ever, just have special defenses.

Hi everyone,

As Christina tweeted, some of the new guns you are seeing in those screens are not in the Lair of the Shadow Broker pack. They are in fact part of a different pack that will be released prior to Lair of the Shadowbroker - more details coming very soon. While this was simply intended to tease them I can see how it could be misleading, so I must apologize for that.

Lair of the Shadow Broker does, however, contain some *really* cool stuff we haven't revealed yet so stay tuned for more details as we head into August. And actually the very coolest part of the DLC (imho) will be something we absolutely won't reveal in the marketing or PR, to avoid spoiling it. I think most of you will find it to be our most satisfying DLC release yet for ME2.

Best Regards,

Jarrett

Sounds good, but what about...

The next appearance pack for your squadmembers?!

Yeah, it looks like it will be in september. That's what I got by "more details as we head into August". Oh well, I'm pretty sure the wait was worth it. It's good to see that the weapons pack is being released before LoTSB. Although I prefer story content. However that new pistol looks "Noice" if ya know what I mean :D

How soon was Overlord released after it's announcement? Was it a few weeks? A month? I guess we can use that to speculate the release of this DLC.
