Guessing the pistol will be a half way point between the predator and the carnifex - more bullets than the the 'fex less than the pred, and more damage than the pred but less than the 'fex.
As for the shotty - someone mentioned it might be geth in which case i'm guessing v.good versus shields but not so good versus armour/health and a good ammo amount (if teh geth rifle is anything to go by).
No idea on the rifle.

Honestly, I wish Geth weapons were better.

And the Collector Assault Rifle sucks. I love the reload animation and the sound it makes as it fires, but it shoots feathers compared to the other weapons.

actually the collectors assault rifle is pretty good! i like to use it but the only draw back is the ammo

Its accurate. But its damage is negligible.

How can any Soldier not like the Revenant. Sure you need to aim a bit more when using it, and be smart when firing but in my most recent playthrough (after being a Vanguard for about 5 playthroughs) I almost exclusively used the Viper and Revenant after I got them. The key really is to aim a little low and then burst fire it.

What do you guys think could be the attributes of the new Assault Rifle and the new Heavy Pistol

Assault Rifle:

What I'd Like to See: Something akin to an uber Avenger, decent accuracy, a deep ammo reserve; but with a hell of alot more damage, like a Tempest with the Accuracy of an Avenger.  The Avenger is a fun weapon to use; but it just doesn't stack up when it comes to laying down the damage.

Why I'd like to See it:  Frankly all the  assault rifles except for the Revenant and Vindicator are underpowered and so you don't really have a formidable AR that balances accuracy and  suppressive fire.  Furthermore if you're a soldier who opts for the Widow over the Revenant (such as myself) then you're stuck without a formidable fully automatic since you can't equip an SMG (which pisses me off).   On top of that any one who chooses to unlock Assault Rifles on the Collector Cruiser gets the shaft since the Locust SMG outclasses ever Assault Rifle save for the Vindicator which really requires the Soldier's Adrenaline Rush ability to be used to its full potential.

Heavy Pistol:

What I'd Like to See: Something that I actually have a reason to use, ideally  something radically different like a pistol with a pretty deep ammo reserve that fires a less powerful and less accurate downscaled version of the Collector Particle Beam.  That would be really nice since my soldier can't equip an SMG (which pisses me off) I could really use something resembling a fully automatic when I'm rolling with my Vindicator, not to mention it would just be fun to have a beam weapon sidearm.

Why I'd like to See it:  The Locust rendered pistols obsolete for every class except for soldiers and Soldiers already had access to the Vindicator which is like a more accurate, more powerful Carnifex with a slightly less ridiculous ammo reserve.

Shotgun:

What I'd Like to See:  A full auto shotgun like a Scimitar with the range of an Eviscerator; but which deals a tad less damage to compensate.

Why I'd like to See it:  The Scimitar is a fun weapon; but as is the case with all the shotguns except the Eviscerator I find its range to simply be far to limited to be very useful to anyone except a Vanguard or an Assault Sentinel.

ehh i like to keep good distance between my enemies! i use adrebaline rush all the time! and i dont use the N7 armor i use the dragon armor because it looks badass and i use the cerberus assault armor which gives you good shiled, health and more heavy weapon ammo,  its the perfect armor to use on battlefiled....im trying to get the new Kestrel armor set.. i like how it has 25% more shield damn i wish they made 1 badass armor combining the dragon armor and cerberous armor into 1 badass armor that be good....back to topic the Revenant to me is a horrible weapon because the aim is very inaccurate they could make a better machine gun with assault rifle accuracy and ill be happy...does anone have any idea if the new assault rifle gun is a assault rifle or machine gun? to me it kinda looks too big to be an assault rifle...

Ha ha I understand, I'm just giving you a hard time.  I absolutely love the Blood Dragon Armor.  By far, my favorite armor in the game.  The Kestrel Armor is pretty great, and I love the storm speed upgrade so I usually have the blood dragon armor on my infiltrator or vanguard.  I don't mind the Cerberus armor at all either...

The Locust is without a doubt the best weapon for every class except The Soldier.

We need a weapon to offset this. Looking for all three new weapons to rock my socks.

I've got AR training on my canon Shepard, so I want an AR that's automatic and worth using, damn it.

it's inaccuracy is and looks hilarious. you can only use it in very short range. anyway i just edited coalesced and now its one of the most accurate weapons aside from snipers of course, as the best weapon in the game should be.

How long were previous large DLC's (DAO and ME series) announced before they became available? I'd love to know what kind of a time frame I'm looking at before more alien side b... I mean resolution to a loose end in the ME universe.

most of them were released within or a bit more than in a month, but judging from the bioware employee's comments i'm assuming it'll take longer than that...

I don't know about you but even when I go full auto I only miss MAYBE 10 shots at most. I can nail enemies just inside the targeting range. You just need to focus and compensate for some kickback. It's not that hard. Besides that I'm even playing on the Xbox 360 and all I ever need to use is the Revenant and the Viper. I have never run out of ammo for both and I never have any issues.

Kasumi and Overlord were both announced almost exactly 1 month before release

I believe the new AR will be a light machine gun like the revenant with a bit more accuracy, and a little less power. Though given the fact that most of the DLC weapons have been monsterously powerful, it may not be too much weaker.

The heavy pistol will, as many seem to think, likely be a similar case. Enjoying a greater ammo reserve than the predator, but also being closer in power to the carnifex. This really needs to happen because the heavy pistols currently available aren't very beneficial. If someone is using an adept, sentinel, or engineer then their very limited in terms of gunplay. This honestly isn't so bad on Veteran difficulty or lower, but is not so much fun on hardcore or insanity IMO. That's why I prefer Soldier & Vanguard myself.

Also, there appears to be a new shotgun on the way. I don't really know what to expect from that. It does seem to be double barreled though. Maybe it will fire two shots in rapid succesion with each pull of the trigger. The first to disrupt sheilds, and the second to go after health...on standard foot-soldiers at least.

I think I mentioned this earlier, but in the screenshot with Tali, Garrus, & Liara, Tali is holding the predator pistol, but also has the New pistol on her hip. Might we be seeing a new class of weapon? I doubt it. It's more likely that the devs simply put that in there because they thought it looked cool. Still...

Fixed, I never thought those were cool, and the sound effects are silly, and the 'wounds' caused by them in the movies are equally silly

Hmm. This is appearing to be a overlord/kasumi length and style DLC. I wonder if ME2 will receive an awakenings treatment.

lets say we get a DLC where we get to go to a new system and theirs a war between a new alien specie vs their robots that they made something like the geth but weaker...we would get different types of weapons...so the gun would look alien and the firing would be re-animated something like the predators plasma weapon or like the weapons seen in district 9...i think that would be really cool!

I'm calling the big ending decision right now on the count of it being so glaringly obvious that you can see it from space:

Paragons: Save (free) Feron/let the Shadow Broker escape
Renegades: Kill the Shadow Broker/let Feron die

Edit: I believe BioWare will give us the option to let the Shadow Broker escape because the dlc is entirely optional therefore non of the outcomes will have any serious baring on ME3 besides an email or 0:04 sec news report.

Ahh, sorry, you're a bit late for that. Already've been done ^_^

Ya know, I've just thought of something... We have always said that Thane, Feron and the rest of the Drell look like fish, however they actually suffer from humid areas, and I guess that if you make a Drell swim, he will die quicker from that Kepral's syndrom illness, as there's a chance of him to accidently get some water drops into his lungs...
