Seems a little.........ODD! Bioware always show release dates of DLC's(You know, they tell you which month it comes out). As far as I can tell, maybe They keeping us in the dark because It might means It the best DLC of ME2!

All we've heard so far regarding the release date is "E3."  Given that we're half way through August and still haven't heard anything more specific, I've got figure  it's going to be sometime in September.

Man, I'm looking forward to it.  I hope it's more substantial than Overlord.  At least 2-3 hours of gameplay would be nice, with new voice acting from all the squadmates.  Even better would be a true expansion with increased level caps and ~10 hrs of game play, but they would probably be making a bigger deal of it if that's what it was.

Anyone else find it too easy to hit the level 30 cap?  If you simply do all the loyalty missions, you're pretty much going to hit level 30 by the time you do the suicide run.  They should increase the cap to 35.

Really they canceled it?

Probably because they took too long and then this PS3 thing occurred.

As I said before, these monstrous projects that entail so much in such a story like this, mixed with video game technology and the increasing impatience of gammers causes a lot of grief for the story bound fans.

In my opinion, they should just put a segment about the Shadow Broker into ME3. Why not? It could be one of the quests.

No it wasn't, a Polish news website that it's coming August 24, next Tuesday.  (From the locked LotSB thread)

Even an English-language site has August 24:

games.gamepressure.com/game_info.asp

And Chris Priestly had this to say, since he likes raining on everyone's parade:

Chris Priestly wrote...

This date is a rumor and you should all take it as such. As in, do not get your hopes up for it on that date. Just sayin'

So, take it as you will.

RELAX!

The DLC hasn't been cancelled!

However, two main things of note:

1. There is still, as of yet, very little concrete information from Bioware on either the content or the release date of LOTSB.  One thing that we do know is that no information about the DLC was released at the EA Press Conference at the Gamescom Show in Germany.  This was a disappointment to many fans as there was rampant speculation that Bioware would reveal something.

2.  The original discussion topic for LOTSB in the General Announcements Thread was recently closed due to the high volume of flame posts and off-topic posts.

As a consequence of the above, any of us that post in this thread should endeavour to keep our discussions polite and on-topic, otherwise Bioware will close this one also.

There is currently a rumour circulating about a possible release date of 24th August.  However, this is just that, a rumour, and Chris (of Bioware) has already said as much.

At this stage, there is little point in flaming, complaining or speculating too much.  Bioware will most likely reopen the LOTSB Topic in the General Discussion area as soon as they are ready to reveal further information on the DLC.

Until then, we wait!

Well, the truth of it is, hoping EA / BW would announce "anything" at Gamescon was just that, "HOPE". Noone from EA / BW ever said any kind of announcement at Gamescon about LOTSB was going to be made. So there it is. The frustration all comes from the time it has been since BW first said something about the LOTSB DLC, and no follow up of any kind that at least had a release date.

has it been cancelled already...everything bioware is doing (or actually not ) is suggesting that it has been cancelled or at the very least postponed pinnacle station style...and as an aside it is kind of funny that the announcement thread gets closed for being off topic - when for the last month or so bioware has provided NO information - what did they think would happen

Well then my question is ---

Will this affect your finished game in a major way --- I mean throwing Liara back into the team when you already ( well most gammers) chose someone else...

Boy what a shake up after a huge shake down from the Collectors. This crew is never going to get a breather.

It could be coming out on the 24th. Priestly is probably just messing with us. Remember the stuff he said about Legion before Mass 2 came out? And Garrus? It might come out next tuesday.

It's not coming out on the 24th.

All releases this size are promoted in advance, with a release date announced at least 2 weeks prior.

The fact that we haven't even had any info means it won't come out till mid to late september at least.

Also, if it was coming out next week, it would be on the upcoming releases list here:

majornelson.com/

For all the small weapon and armour packs Bioware haven't pre-announced, Major Nelson has always had it in the "coming soon" section at least a week before release.

Basically, if it was coming out on Aug 24th, it'd be official, not a rumour.

They shouldn't have announced it so early if they had no information to release.

Not essentially true, the release date for Overlord was announced basically the same way, the Tuesday or Wednesday prior.

Overlord was huge and it was given a week notice max, personally I think it was around 4 days.

Actually your wrong. Overlord wasn't given a release date until 2 days before. Also, Major Nelson doesn't list Bioware items for whatever reason. At least since Overlord's release date was on there before Bioware announced it. (Overlord or some other, anyways) The firepower pack wasn't on Major Nelsons update, yet it was released the tuesday of the week he wrote the updates for. Bioware/EA can request that he doesn't disclose the information, so you can't go by that website.

A: Bioware spring dlc on us all the time without us knowing release date for instance the overlord had been announced but not details or release date just like this and it was released without prior warning of a date or anything.

B: Bioware said that the firepower pack would arrive not long before the Shadowbroker DLC now i know Bioware do have a warped sense of time and all but I'm pretty sure that they wouldnt say shortly after and then put it almost 2 months after the firepower pack.

C: Gamescom is on at the moment, I know saying that sounds stupid right but i am pretty sure that that at GDC, E3 and Comicon (though not purely a games convention it is now becoming more like one) DLC has been announced/released during/shortly after, so it's safe to assume bioware instead of releasing it upon the world of gamers in a way that isn't just shoving it on their site to which only a few major fans will see, instead they will get much more coverage of the DLC and  will sell more of the DLC if they announce it and release it around a convention time.

D. The Bioware moderator hasn't confirmed/denied the 24th rumour, when he usually gets involved and yet makes an effort to not say anything that usually means rumours are roughly true, give or take small minor details.

Oh and finally do you really think that just cause one dude doesn't have it as coming soon that it isn't coming anytime soon, sorry bro but that dude aint omnipitent Bioware are obviously playing this one close to the chest as it is the biggest piece of DLC that will have come out for ME2 and aren't letting even the tiniest leak of info get away, bioware love their shock shazam here it is, you werent expecting that style of releasing, my guess is that will be the way this one goes.
