Lair of the Shadow Broker- Liara DLC Announced

Sep 30th is the upper limit of Quarter 3 of the year. Thus, if Bioware have stated to the press that they plan to releaseLOTSB in Q3 of 2010 then the Press are likely to either just guess the month as September or put in an upper limit date of the last day of that month.
On that basis, take the IGN date with a pinch of salt.
We (like the press) have to wait for more concrete info from BW.
You never know, maybe we'll get a tidbit later today ( ala (Overlord DLC - Info on the Friday, released the following Tuesday)!
We patiently wait!

Correct on the placeholder date, plenty of sites/mags etc. put in placeholder dates for games when. They only have vague info to go on.

I would just like to point out that ign lists the release date for Lair of the Shadow Broker as September 30th.
As much as I want to beleive that ign is wrong and the dlc is coming sooner, they've never done me wrong in the past.
Im disapointed. As much as a wanted a release date I was hoping for one that wasnt so...distant.
September 30th? The distance isn't the problem, it's the timeframe. For me it's just no good, I'll be DEEP in Halo:Reach multiplayer matches by then, earning achievements etc.
I know LotSB will probably amount to only a few hours of game time, but I honestly don't know when I would get around to it by then. I'll be in a Spartan mode for months.

They are professionals for chrissakes, they should at least be able to give us something better than "soon" or leave us hanging in limbo for a frickin' month.

yeah, and the phrase "when it's done" amounted to some pretty impressive Vaporware.

Eh........this isn't so bad, at least we get a general idea. You should try hanging out with the folks at Remedy, we've been waiting for "The Writer" Alan Wake dlc FOR MONTHS now.

I would like to point you in the direction of those still waiting for an official US release of Earthbound 2, then talk to me about a long wait.
Someone made a good point earlier, releasing the dlc within the timeframe of a Halo game is just foolish.
By the gods, let this dlc be officially announced today.

The 'big decision' in the dlc had a screenshot like last month. The DLC has been done for months. They just want to watch you squirm.morrie23 wrote...
I'm pretty sure the DLC is done, I highly doubt BW would announce the existance of the LotSB if it wasn't done. The thing that were waiting on is probably the process of Live certification, maybe they came across a problem and that's why we haven't heard anything. It's the total lack of information that is starting to annoy, much more was said about Overlord (way) before its release, BW seem to have decided against telling us anything about LotSB.

I can't comment on games that never made it to my gaming platform (PC) although Alan Wake was first developed for the Rig, as well as Halo 1.Halo Quea wrote...

Judging from the review from Zero Punctuation on AW it seems like I didn't miss much...

Yeah, I don't think they are that stupid to release thier dlc alongside Halo. But there is still about three weeks until Halo Reach launches. So the possible release dates (before Halo) are 24/8, 31/8 and 7/9. So my guess is it will be released on one of these dates (hopefully next week).

I don't think we'll get it on 24/8, Major Nelson has already posted what's being released on Live for that week and LotSB wasn't on the list. His next post (due 24/8 I believe) might reveal the release date for the DLC before BW says anything, this is what happened with Overlord.

God I hope not... the Hammerhead is a great vehicle for its maneuverability, agility and weapons, but the armor could be very well a sheet of tinfoil as it can't take as much damage as the Mako could.annihilator27 wrote...

If they bring it along, I hope that BioWare upgrades the armor plating substantially.

I agree.annihilator27 wrote...
Yeah I hate the armor on that thing. I still like the mako better. Thats a much better vehicle all around.
In my opinion BW screwed up with the Mako by making the terrain to hard to traverse. I recall the mission on the fringes of the galaxy where you wiped out some geth outposts.
Sometimes I was asking myself if it would have been easier to simply walk up to these outposts.

If they made it exclusive day one content for PS3, they'd alienate all current fans of Mass Effect. Do you know how bad these forums would get if they did something like that?

I think that closing the announcement page topic was a telling sign that the dlc isn't coming out anytime in the near future or for that matter any substantial information either...sure the topic had gotten testy BUT if bioware thought they would have anything to say they would have left it up and running...I think this gets delayed until PS3 ME2 and it becomes a day one dlc release for that platform...
Nah, it was closed because it was getting insane in there. People were just mouthing off Chris, Bioware, EA, it was a mess in there. As for the DLC no I dont think they are waiting for the PS3 release, unless its a huge expansion for 2 reasons. The PS3 announcement wasnt a spur of the moment thing to ****** off the xbox players. It was probably thought about from day one release and 2 they wouldnt have announced LoTSB this early unless it was huge. Honestly if it was delayed until january 2011 and was a huge expansion then ya I would love it, but I highly doubt is.

So does Lair of the Shadow Broker take place during Mass Effect 2 or after it, as in between ME2 and ME3?
I hope after but the only proof we have to go on is the 3 screenshots they gave us.
