Just throwing it out there; what if the Shadowbroker is Mirandas father..? He's really powerful, right? makes sense to me at least, unless there's something i've missed..
Well Miranda knows her father...and well...Yeah I guess its possible...the Shadow Broker could be a known person who just keeps his idenity a secret...but I always pictured the SB to be someone who never leaves his place and never is seen...if anything the most logical choice is like Cerberus does...move around.
Makes sense also, just thinkin' since there's been such emphasis that he's so very very powerful during different situations/conversations in ME2..and Miranda hasn't been in touch with her father for ages, and might even be oblivious to his potential status as the SB.

I don't think so because Miranda said that her father used to be a proud contributer to Cerberus until she ran away and joined Cerberus. I also think that the Shadow Broker has been around before humans were popular.

Nah man, I mean like how Cerberus operates...In Retribution they talk alot about this...Illusive Man is constantly moving stations...switching ships...to stay hard to track....thats what I was saying about the SB...I would imagine someone like that wouldnt want to sit in one place...assuming he or she is even one person.

My money is on the Consort. (Shiera?) Maybe she's even Liara's "father" for a lame twist.
Would make me laugh considering my Renegon MaleShep slept with both of them in ME1.

SheparD: THAt'S RIGHT, you're my girlfriend, AND my step-daughter
Liara: ....

Zaeed: Just got back from the Shadow Broker thing. Only I made it back alive.

This is one thing that really annoys me about 'fans'. Not everyone is someone. The Shadow Broker isn't going to be a character that was mentioned or that we already know, that's just lazy storytelling. The 'reveal' would simply relate to his species, location and public identity, assuming he has one, not that 'OMG It's Liara's Dad in a massive coinicidence!".
While I largely agree with you, it's a tricky place for the writers to be in. You don't want it to be a known character because that's silly, but you also don't want it to just be Some Dude, because THAT"S silly, and you reeeally don't want want it to be a sentient AI, because that's just a cliche. It's probably gonna be one of the three, and there are major cons to each.

Not to mention that to tell a truly epic and memorable story you need to pleasantly surprise the audience....that's the only way to create a massive fanbase. Take Star Wars and it's twist regarding Luke's father.......bash it all you like it resonted with a lot of people and created a cult audience numbering in the tens of millions. As far as RPGs go the game most praised for having an epic plot twist is KotOR which has one of the most beautifully executed plot twists I've ever seen.
Sure they can fall into lame territory with something like this but is executed well it can give them the touch they need to largely increase their fanbase and besides a lot o people will be largely disappointed if the grand revelation is: "Oh it's some dude nobody knew of".....that is far lazier writing because they didn't even consider making an interesting character be the big bad boss. Liara's father would probably be the weakest puff largely because too many screamed it up and down the forums and Liara already had a dramatic family face-off so I doubt a second one would resonate with the larger audience that isn't posting here on the forums. They need something new and fresh and shocking and amazing.....preferably related to Shepard in a very personal way.

An AI program would be waay predictable and already done in KOTOR2

It can't be Feron simply because the Drell haven't been around long enough for it to be him. The Hanar rescued them what... a few centuries ago?

I like to think the shadow broker is a volus. come on no one takes them seriously!
I was thinking it would be fun to have one in your squad in ME3.
But since they are not fit to fight and requir service of turians and krogans for combat, i doubt it.

As epic as my little Liara is I bet it's gonna be a lot harder to track down the SB,
One thing I would love to see is an epic battle with Tazzik, from the Redemption comics XD
http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Tazzik
A big badass Salarian who will try to kick the crap outta you and your squad. Maybe have abit of history between him and Zaeed seeing as they could have clashed before in their line of work
