Hey there, I was wondering If anyone knows a fix for the problem I've been getting since I reinstalled all BG games along with Easy Tutu. BG and BG2 start without problems, but when I tried to start Tutu, I got this message:

An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 628
Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:data\\Hd0Gmosc.bif

The thing is, Tutu ran perfectly the day before, untill my PC messed up and uninstalled all things BG.
It can't be a mod problem since It doesn't start without the mods either.
Thanks for any help.

If your PC messed up, and deleted all things BG, it could be a sign of a virus maybe?

Nah, it was definitely no virus. Appearently it just reverted my settings a few days back, before I had BG tutu and the rest installed. Everything works perfectly, except that Tutu won't start.

Check your baldur.ini file. There's probably something wrong with the [Alias] section. The paths there should point towards your EasyTutu installation section but if they don't you could probably see this error message. If you are on Vista or Win 7 and have the game installed to c:\\program files there's the whole "compatibility files" thing to account for.

Hm... The paths seem to pointing toward the right place. Ai am on Win 7 and have it installed in programs, but the thing is, I installed everything in exactly the same order and locations as it was installed earlier (when the game was working without problems).

Hell, I'll just reinstall everything again and see how'll that work out.

Since you say you had some Windows failure, it may have dumped the "compatibility files" but still redirects the game towards these (now non-existent) files. If you reinstall, don't reinstall to c:\\program files, you'll save yourself trouble that way.

******* retarded forum software. Those are supposed to be single back slashes in both posts.
