As for Biowares silence that could be down to many things, perhaps they are hoping everyone complaining about this issue will get tired and the whole thing will die down, who knows ?
Mmh, they've already made their "official" reply, whining about it for days isn't going to fix it. As I understand it, the scenario runs like this: 1) The DLC is heavy on VO, so it's expensive to localise. This means that it is not financially viable to localise it for some medium-sized (Eastern European) markets that had the initial game (and possibly some earlier DLC) localised. 2) The technical issue is that plugging in English DLC to a, say, Polish game does, for some reason, not work. 3) End result = No DLC for those areas.
Now, if you're demanding that Bio should localise the game for you
at a loss, you're just being childish.
I have no idea how common it is to localise games in these areas, as in my local market we only ever get the "international English"/UK version. Obviously, if most games are just English, without even non-English subtitling like here, the original idea to localise the main game wasn't too good in the first place.
Of course, all the PC users are in the happy position that they're able to get the English version FOR FREE from EA. Those out of luck are the x360 users, who might not be able to get the game even if they bought the EU English version. And THAT, if true, is indeed unfair. (Not the buying of the second copy of the game, I've bought two versions of it already myself, x360 and PC CE both at full price).
