Michael Gamble wrote...

Glad to see you guys are excited. We've been working on this for a while, and you're all in for a treat.

Hopefully a good sign and depending on Gamble's definition of "a while" even could mean squad dialog. :)

Shialalover wrote...

I understand Gamble apologised a few pages back, but it also seems apparent that some of our friends here on BSN, and in certain Easter Europe nations will not be able to get this dlc at all? That's utter rubbish. They need to fix this. Liara has a huge fanbase in those countries, especially represented on those forums. Bioware, you just have to create a dlc version for those countries so they can access it too. You've already alienated fans by giving Liara and the Virmire Survivor absolutely crap roles that are outrageously OOC, and now the dlc, which would have helped compensate for this fiasco is inaccessible.

A year or so down the road, when you are wondering why your fanbase has diminished, think upon this moment.

Fiannawolf wrote...

Im still abit confused on why its a problem to get this dlc to all parts of the world. Is it a VO issue? Subtitle issue? Incompatable with English version to foreign 360 issue?

that is why BW we politely ask for explanation of those "technical issues"-please don't ignore us

At the very least, Bioware should give us a better explanation than saying it's a "technical issue."

I feel bad for Gamble, since he seems very excited about this product, and having to put out an internet fire storm was probably not something he was anticipating. But now that the cat is out of the bag, it would be nice if he came back and gave us more information.

does all know that the LOSB thread is currently [just behind movie thread] longest thread in ME2 forum news page 1 section ?

that umm should oblige BW to a least give a response maybe?

The Bungie forums may be full of a bunch of morons, but at least the devs and mods there respond to forumites . . . .

I wouldn't even say it's the Bioware devs because the DA2 devs are responding to their fans very well, I would say it's the ME devs.

With all respect for Mr. Gamble, but if you're gonna announce an already rumoured to be announced and highly anticipated piece of content and add a side note to it that some of the fans will not be able to get it, you better brace for impact.

I hope they make it clear what the problem is soon, and why they can't fix it (or that they can fix it, and the DLC is just delayed for those countries) but to be fair, you alone have probably made half the posts in this thread, lol. :P

I have to wonder if this is a case of absolutely CANNOT fix it or if it's really that they could fix it, but it would not be econocically feesable to do so.  Meaning that it would cost BW more to fix the problem than they would make selling the dlc.

But you are right, the reason behind this charade is most likely lack of profit. I do not really care, I would never buy localized version anyways.

Guess the UN people didn't complete basic education.

Maybe the lack of DLC is punishment for denying what you are? :P

Or is that a pun based on "Easter" vs. "Eastern"? :P

what?
it's not a matter of politics or education as for ME2 all who legally pay=all of us are equally entitled to get same [not localised=eng] DLC...so it seems TOTALLY offtopic that u bring "east vs west" or any politics into it......
i've said MEH!

Are you kidding me? The only people who respond on Bungie forums are moderators. And that's usually for a ban or to lock a thread. I've never seen their developers respond to community threads like I've seen Bioware. Stop whining because they haven't offered a more detailed response yet. For all you know they could be troubleshooting further for you ungrateful people. <_<

Personally, I don't care whether she becomes recruitable now, or in ME3, or not at all - as long as she recognises that my FemShep stayed loyal to her through ME2, despite how cold Liara's personality became, and understands that my FemShep still has feelings for her, it's all good.

Yeah, because with EA's financial support, they won't fix a problem in their game because it might cost too much.

Well, that may be due to the fact DA2 is new. Will they keep up steam throughout development and afterwards? Plus, will they treat patches and bugs the same way they did for DA1 or respond to the fixes people want in the forums?

i think that for company such as BW not only ca$h should matter but also a thing which i'll ad-hoc call "audience response"
cos think of this: to what end is saving few $ on not fixing error  in most wanted dlc ever and then loose tons of $ when people who won't get it turn their back on them and won't buy any more stuff from BW?
i'd say it's worth to even loose couple of $ on fixing DLC but keep people by your side thus will generate more profit for you in the future and the fix will payback than achieve such not-fixing-Pyrrus victory and loose all
what will you say?

You have no proof. We don't even know what the issue is. Your just assuming that they don't want to spend money to fix the problem, if there is any money to be spent on it in the first place. They already posted a response, what more do you want? They could probably fix it in the future, but with the anti-bioware arguments going on over here, that's not likely to happen. You know what's a shame though? You people are giving the rest of the European residents a bad name. All you do is flame the company, without giving them a chance to respond officially to you. What if they might have found a way to fix it and are testing to see if it works, and that could be the reason they haven't responded again? Ever think of that? You are too emotional when it comes to things like this. Remember the Bioware Bazaar? People thought Bioware intentionally sought out to screw them over? This is a repeat.

So how about less bashing the company and posting your conspiracy theories, and more support huh? Because positive comments yeild positive results. Negative comments, not so much.

They did screw people over with that. Only Americans? The least they could've done was extend it to Canadians. Bioware is based/founded IN Canada and many of Ea's better games are made from Canadian Studios. Let me outline something for you about how screwed I feel. The Mass Effect lithographs are printed in Edmonton which is in Canada which is then shipped to Denver in the US which is then shipped back to me in Toronto, Canada. Shipping costs more due to this as well. How stupid does that sound?
