any speculations on a release date?

The Fandom speculates August. That's our best guess.

We've been getting DLC every month.

I like guns with lots of ammo. Don't know why.

We already have a heavy hitting rifle in the Vindicator. Sure, its burst, but it does a lot of precise damage.

I think we're in need of a stronger automatic weapon. The Locust SMG of Assault Rifles.

Yah. Like I mentioned before, we could really use some weapons equivalent to the Spectre X line in ME1. We already have the Locust, Widow and Eviscerator as rough analogues to the Spectre X Pistol, Sniper Rifle and Shotty. Now we need something like the Spectre AR.

The only ARs worth using are the Vindi and the Revenant, and they're both total opposite ends of scale.

True, the GPR is so...bad. It's like the avenger, but somehow weaker. And it doesn't sit on the back right, either. Collector rifle is also bad, but at least when you run it fires consistently, giving it a basic advantage. (I don't own the collectors edition, but I've played it with a friend, to clarify.)
Unfortunately, the best rapid-fire weapon is currently the locust, not an AR, but the vindicator is better then the locust if you know how to use it right, and revenant is epic at close quarters.

But the impression I get from the books is auto weapons like the avenger have always been the most popular, so hopefully they'll reflect this in the weapon pack.

Yeah, the Vindicator is a BR, and the Revenant is a LMG.

Lets get something like the Revenant, but-

Less damage than the Vindicator, more damage than the Avenger, Collector's, and Geth

Decent to high accuracy

Big clip

One thing I hate about using the Locust is the small clip size. Give me a large clip Bioware.

How about the new AR roll with 480 rounds, 60 per clip/heat sink?

So, the ME2 DLC gets announced about a week ago. the DAO DLC gets announced today. the DAO DLC already has a speculative release date of August 10th... but still no word on the ME2 DLC..... you would think that the first one to be announced would be the first one to be released surely....

Well maybe the ME2 team should take a leaf out of the DAO teams book and try doing the same thing....... announce somethign that looks awesome and release it 2 weeks later. although saying that, theres no guarantee that august 10th will stick..... so just ignore me.... lol

It'll be nice to take down the Shadow Broker....I'm looking forward to it.

And...I don't know if it's been stated here already or not, but there's going to be no new weapons in this DLC. The stuff you're seeing is just part of the Promo Images. It's already been announced by the heads that there aren't going to be any new weapons or armor in this DLC and that it's pure story.

Sorry about that....I know that not everyone is aware of this, so if my above response sounds mean...I don't mean for it to. Please understand that!

Anyway...it'll be nice to have Liara help take down the Shadow Broker.

My only worry here is that the weapon might not be balanced properly against the Revenant. If they bring out an AR that's essentially the Rev with better accuracy then it breaks the balance of all the stuff. So far they've managed to balance new kit against existing guns in the game... but I'm not sure how long that can last.

To be honest, I found the clip size just right on the Locust. Given it's auto fire rate, punch, and accuracy, any larger clip would have started to get unbalanced.

Interestingly, the prima guide obviously had shots from an earlier version of the game, with a weapon that looked like the Vindi but had a 60-round heat sink and 240 reserve heat sink.

The new weapons are coming in a seperate DLC, coming out before LOSB.

I don't like guns with huge clips and small reserves. That defeats the purpose to me.

The Avenger, Geth, and Collector's were all good balance, clip to reserve wise.

Well, it'd be weaker than the Revenant anyway.

Accuracy and range would make up for it.

I could not handle the Revenant. I switched back to Vindicator.

I play a Vanguard, so the Revenant is unavailable, but I'd have no need for it with The Eviscerator.

Currently my NG+ Vanguard runs-

Vindicator

Locust

Eviscerator

Carnifex

Blackstorm/Collector Beam

The Locust makes any use of my AR's obsolete until I get a newer one. Only reason I run with the Vindicator is because it looks cool and sometimes, accuracy is a necessity(HEADSHOTS ON YMIR MECHS FTW)

The rev is frikken awesome I suggest burst fire if you cant handle it full auto but lighlt pulling down on the stick while fireing actual kills its recoil making it a very good short to medium range weapon upgrading it makes it a effective long range weapon as well if you can fight the recoil,

Just takes time and practice if you havent played many shooters gears of war 2 is perfect for training your fingers to handle the recoil of several guns in ME2 I can snipe with the rev if I'm bored just like I can with the lancer in GOW2 for the same reason

I think the Revenant's a waste of time when shotguns are available.

The Claymore's unnecessary with the Eviscerator available, so that leaves the Widow as the best choice imo.

meh to each their own I suppose, I use the viper on my shep to be honest for true sniping I like being able to clear an entire room without having to reload after every single shot. lol

I like using the Claymore as a Soldier, so a heavy AR is more than welcome. :)

Is that solid, or fandom guess? I was thinking that it would be a seperate DLC myself, but never heard anything about it for sure.

It is confirmed that we are getting the weapons before LotSB.

I really hope LotSB is pre-ME3 DLC, because the Kestrel armor calls to me. It beckons. But there is no reason to buy it unless I have a reason. I mean, hell, I killed everything every possible to kill already.

Yea

ME2 needs more things that can be done constantly, such as a Pinnacle Station kind of thing or racing areas for the Hammerhead.

I've also been a supporter to adding more N7 missions.

I don't agree with that. This is not an open world. It would completely imbalance gameplay.
