I simply can't wait for this DLC. It makes me wonder though if now that Liara has delt with the SB if she will join you team on the Normandy like a DLC character like Zaeed and Kasumi. This would be great but I dought it. They would have to make Liara "talkable" unlike Zaeed/Kasumi and also Liara would have to be an LI. Also, were would she go on the Normandy, there's no more room... I suppose we could put her in the Commander's Cabin just a thought haha



As much as I like Liara... I kinda hope she goes back to Illium after 'cause I'll be disapointed if she comes on the Normandy and you can't ever talk to her

I don't get why everyone says there's no more space. Liara could stand in a ton of places.

Nah.  The Batarians in BDtS already thought of that. 

The SB is a manipulator and instigator of events through information trading.  I don't think he/she/they/it get directly involved in much of anything.

I've never understood why the simple idea of the SB being an AI is automatically billed as 'boring'. Whether or not it's boring will depend on how it is introduced, not the semantics of it's sapience.

Several reasons. After overlord another AI antagonist would be a letdown. Also an AI would have a hard time making the delicate decisions that the SB has done. An Asari or Volus is much more likely to be the SB, but anything is possible.

Overlord's antagonist wasn't an AI.

And where exactly are you getting the stats to deduce that a Volus or an Asari is any more likely than any other race or entity, known or unknown, in the ME universe?

All I'm saying is that there seems to be this borderline-fanatical aversion to the idea that the SB is an AI, and it seems to be based more on status quo rather then any real reason. I've heard some really interesting ideas on the subject, SB being everything from a rebel Reaper to a still-functioning AI developed by one of the races subsequently destroyed by the Reapers (like a cross between Vigil and Hal-9000). There's plenty of material out there to support the concept.

The simple fact is, the SB has been around for millenia. That either means its a mantle passed down from entity to entity (groups or individuals) or it's an entity that has an infinite lifespan - of which, only AIs fit the bill.

The shadow broker is Feron, Mirandas dad or someone we haven't met Doing a AI right after overlord would be lame...I also think it's possible that liara will join the team she was in the med lab in ME 1 why not chill with chakwas eh? Tali chills with the engineers.

I dont think Liara will become a permanent part of the crew. its more likely that she will return to Ilium to tie up loose ends, finish off any and all business she has left to finish off, get her "friend" somewhere safe to stay and then be ready willing and able for ME3. whether that be in a team mate capacity or someone giving you the info you need to carry out your mission to end the reapers.

I agree, an AI could be done in a way that could be better than something else. We have to put faith in Bioware that they'll do something amazing.

Lair of the Shadow Broker does, however, contain some *really* cool stuff we haven't revealed yet so stay tuned for more details as we head into August. And actually the very coolest part of the DLC (imho) will be something we absolutely won't reveal in the marketing or PR, to avoid spoiling it. I think most of you will find it to be our most satisfying DLC release yet for ME2.

This is part of Jarrett Lee's post from the other thread about the DLC. Naturally, it makes me wonder what THAT is. It also makes me glad we're in August.

Hopefully we will know more tomorrow. I just wish the DLC was ready now, as I am on vacation this week :-)
