i will refrain from repeating my arguments re. Miranda because this discussion is totally off-topic. Could it please be taken to another thread?

But I will repeat this much: there is absolutely no need to insult one squad member because you happen to be a strong fan of a different squad member. The Liara fans are getting their day in the limelight with this DLC. Why not just let them have it?

i've been thinking,
if this DLC is post suicide mission does anyone think that you are able to tell Liara that the Collectors are actually Protheans?
since i'll bet that she would be very interested, after all Liara is a Prothean expert.
it could be an interesting conversation,

any thoughts on this

I hope so... I'm sure she's be interested. If you get her before the Suicide mission... I'd take her with me on the Collector ship to see if there's any hidden dialog Posted Image

"1st of all... Liara was stuck in Prothean technology... thats why.. it wasn't just a small bitotic field.. I'd love to see Miranda in a Prothean security field haha

2nd: Miranda wasn't chased... she ran away with Niket and went to Cerberus for protection 'cause she couldn't protect herself! Wtf does that tell you.

3rd.. find your proof Miranda killed to two heavies... she may of just killed to 5 mechs at her position and made a break for it. No dought Miranda is strong... but Liara's strong

4th: This is Liara DLC post... if you hate Liara that much... get out of this post and go excite your dongle to Miranda's romance scene"

1st i don't hate liara i just think miranda would win in a fight. And from the looks of the station on fire and heavy mechs slaughtering people everytime we see someone through a window it looks pretty hard to just *run past*
Also liara states that she activated the prothean tech due to the geth (which tere were only about 5 of actually in the mine+ a krogan)

Liara is an asari biotic we have no proof that she is special in any way in terms of combat skills

Where miranda has clearly stated she is superior to pretty much any human
Not to mention miranda is part of a pro human splinter for 14 years and most likley knows her way around an asari...

Miranda is cocky.. just because she said shes superior dont mean she is. I can think of humans that would beat her: Shepard, Jack, Anyone with a gun... but no, your right... she's superior to "most" humans considering that most humans don't know how to hold a weapon

Miranda isn't stating she superior only because she's cocky(although she is) she states it due to her genetic modification Purposley improving her in every aspect to perfection maybe if you lisented to her you'd know that shes more than just a chick with a gun. Jack(jack would kick anyone's ass) and shepard(would kick anyone but jack's ass) probaly would beat miranda but miranda could beat any other human on the normandy(jacob, zaeed, kasumi) once again i'll also add for her entire childhood she was bred to be better at everything marksmanship,biotics,ect....Liara has normal asarai biotics+ some training against fodder mercs and is likley to have no talent with a gun

But not all Asari biotics knowns how to use singularity and in ME 1 that was Liara's primary skill and mastered she could wipe out room full of Geth single handed using only singuarity.

Beside she did have 50 years time to train her skills on animals, pirates and slavers during her archeological trips, and it's very possible that before she leaves Thessia she did recive basic commando training from Shiala including knowledge how to use biotics.

You do know, that it's still pretty unlikely that she can hold a bubble that only 2 super-biotics could hold (and barely at that). Shepard himself can use singularity and didn't offer to hold up the bubble. You could say it's a plot device, but it's still moot to say that just because a biotic knows singularity they are instantly super-status. In ME1 all biotics had more power, so Shepard also had the ability to wipe out a full room of geth single handedly with singularity (and better might I add).

Dude... its Liara of course she could hold up the bubble. Liara is a good biotic, she could destroy Miranda any day.

Also, when you see Liara in ME2 the first time, she quotes her mom saying few humans have faced an Asari Commando, wouldn't that mean she's as good as a commando, I bet a commando could hold that bubble.

When did I say that she could or couldn't beat Miranda? I said that I wasn't picking sides, but just laying out what is actually known about Liara. what you said is pure speculation. Maybe we'll find out once the DLC hits, but until I see otherwise, I still believe that she is weaker than Samara and Jack lore-wise and remember that they both barely held the biotic bubble to the end.

All the biotics barely hold the bubble towards the end.

Thank you. As much as I argued.. I was about to say that. Although I am a strong Liara fan.... I still love my entire squad, including Miranda

Just to say: I do listen to her.. in fact, she used to be my favorite character... untill I played Mass Effect 1 and got to know the other characters. Either way, I'm done with this... Liara and Miranda are both amazing squad mates and Mass Effect isn't the same without them

Here is my two cents... Liara could probably hold the bubble. It has been stated in-game that she is a powerful biotic (which she got from her mother) and that she is only 100 years old. Asari become more powerful as they age.... Liara will probably be a beast when she becomes a matriach. As for her training... she did probably retrieve comando training from someone her mother new (or her mother) but I wouldn't go so far as to say she received it from Shiala. Shiala was just an acolyte just like that Asari commando on Noveria. I think that her mother would get her top training from someone she knew as a n equal... not from someone who was her follower. Liara could probably take Jack in a fight... not Samara though. I like Jack but I think people give her too much credit... she is not all powerful.

Clarification:  Liara probably couldn't take Samara in a fight.

Don't think liara is intrested in protheans that much anymore she's changed her focus to information trade and shadow broker doubt we would get more than a "Cool story bro" response if we told her

Lol, she'd be like "Damn thats so 2 years ago..hmm... I wonder what kind of information I can get on this ship about the Shadow Broker?"Posted Image

After all, the SB was working with the Collectors.

maybe but i think that she's just been so focus on the SB for obvious reasons
and when the SB is gone she just might pick up on the Protheans again
i would not be surprised if we find Liara at some Prothean dig site at the start of ME3

if she is not on already the normandy

agree, i really would hate it if Liara:wub: would take  the SB place
there is a small chance i would not buy ME3 if that was the case, unless she starts out in that position
and for some reason decides to join Shep on the Normandy
hope she isn't going to be in the SB spot at all

What happens if Liara became the SB and still became a squadmate? Would you still be angry? I'm pretty sure ME1 squad members come back for ME3. Maybe except Wrex because you have Grunt and Wrex seems busy down in Tuchanka.

i believe that it is a group instead of one person
if i'm correct it is even hinted at in ME1
just after you finished the mission where you find Admiral Kahoku dead and an agent of the SB contacts you
he ends the message with something like'' we will remember this next time you need US for something''
(i don't know the exact words anymore) when you refuse to give him the files on Cerberus:huh:

i would like for her to be SB...it will be more interesting then anything she's done till now...

fact...Liara researched the Protheans for years...Shepard in about 2 years found everything about them...including finishing them off for good

beeing SB means information...Shep needs information in ME3...she is the best source...

i like it also better if it is a group instead of just one person, even the Volus SB agent on the Citadel (ME1) found it hard to believe the SB was just one person

Damn...... that is why  there are multiple locations in this DLC
it just came to me while i was writing this

I'm pretty sure its one person.
