OK, to get this thread somewhat back on track, I'm just going to throw out a crazy idea here. I think that Kasumi might be the Shadowbroker. Hang on with me here. She's sneaky enough, and I think that would be quite a surprising twist if it turned out to be her. Maybe the Kasumi you got to know was a substitute, Clone, who knows? Anyway, I'm really excited about this DLC, but I didn't romance Liara in ME1, and even though I think she's a sweet girl, that's not why i'm excited about this. I'm excited about the Shadowbroker. Kasumi. You heard it first here. This is Mr. niceguy15, peace out.

- A nice guy.

she is dlc, not possible.

OK, i'm no game developer, so I don't fully understand everything about programming and such, but I don't see any reason as to why Kasumi can't be the Shadowbroker?

- A nice guy.

It's not a issue with programming, it's an issue with common sense.   She's a DLC character, someone who basically doesn't have any impact on the ME2 game at all beyond a News Story of her thievery if you don't download her.
Also, she's human, The Shadow Broker has been around long before humans could reach outerspace, making him either an alien or a machine.

How come people assume the Shadow Broker is a person. Im more apt to believe that it is an organization that has been around for god knows how long, and the leader just gets changed out. Kinda like a business. So the leader might be a human but Im still on the idea its an organization

Because your reasonings are not sound. Kasumi? Why? Because she's sneaky? And if you admit that you don't know what you are talking about... don't follow that up with doing so.

Nice guy is obvviously trolling with ya...I'll say it again as i always have shadow broker is liara's dad and an asari, There cannont be some type of secret orginazation that = SB secret would get out or they would keep on killing eachother for more power (as all information brokers seem to do)their criminals with no laws which means no teamwork.

Only other plausible explanation is AI but considering Overlord just came out would be a very lame revalation

Others who are not the shadowbroker: banes is more likley TIM than the shadow broker

A krogan isn't subtle enough to do it

Salarians die to fast

Turians and quarians die too fast

Reaper tech is implausible due to the fact "he" traded with collectors rather than working directly with them

Volus, elcor, and hanar just won't be the shadow broker

Someone shepard perviously met will not be the shadow broker (considering almost everyone we meet can die or isn't memorable enough to make us go OH **** when we see him)

What is your reasoning for Liara's dad (second mom?) being the shadow broker? I just don't see any evidence indicating this any more than the other theories you mentioned.

Meh, I still cant see one man doing all that brokerage. Too much work, too many years, ect, ect. Maybe its a small brotherhood, say 3 or 4 people and passed down through strictly heretical means. Then  there are all the faceless people that work for him, agents of the SB himself. But I still think it is an organization of people. Krogan dont seem like the type to brokerage. Salarians keep to themselves alot it seems. The only likely candidate does seem to be asari. But again I cant see just one person doing it. Maybe its a volus, that would be kinda cool too.

Most posts involve people complaining at the lack of information, loving Liara or something else though. From what I looked over real quick, most of the Dragon Age DLC thread remained on topic.

O.K. I must have missed something along the way

why do some people think the Shadow Broker has been around for such an incredibly  long time?

I get the feeling bioware is testing the water so to speak to see how long they can delay a dlc launch date before we start rioting.

It is just a theory! but it's the only one that has made sense to me
I think like 20 pages back i went into it, really don't wanna explain it again but here's the jist
-SB is likley an asari due to length of it's exsistence and asari being the majior info brokers
-Liaras "dad" has very little backround infomormation and even benezia wouldn't mention her (could be due to pureblood embarssment as liara speculated though)
-Liara is openly going up against one of the most influential people in the galaxy for 2 years now, it seems ood that with his 1000's of agents that he has not had one has kill Liara (Though she can defend herself she's no justicar)
-Nyxseris Never acctually attacked Liara (All that was said was she used a barrirer) it seems plausible she was simply trying to lead liara stray with false info from SB's path and give simply update SB on situation
-I speculate that if Liara's dad is SB that he was trying to lead her away secretly from the dangerous life of a criminal:Perhaps was a catalyst for being an isolated arceholigist, May have wanted to get rid of shepards body purley due to the dangerous lengths Liara was going to do for shepard (same with feron),
-No other character other than an AI seems to always have some reason why they simply couldn't be SB

Again i have no actual evidence but we have no real evidence to go on so far, This just seems like a logical outcome to me
We truly cannot know till DLC (maybe)Posted Image

If bioware pulls a volus i will be very dissapointed (aren't their live spans short aswell?) All that information just seems to valuable to be equally shared among criminals of the highest quality. A asari Matriach could likley hold all this information being as wise and aged as they are, And the broker dosen't seem to be directly involved with every crime concering his name, he probaly focuses on big stuff such as Saren,Sheps body,ect...

What about the Asari receptionist on the Presidium in ME1? Doesn't she say something like, "I have millions of people to watch" or words to that effect? Her desk is opposite Barla Von's office.

Doesn't she bite it in ME2? Or are we not on the same page? Are you referring to the embassy receptionist called Saphyria or something like that?

Could be. I've only done one import and that was an incomplete ME1 shep, so I missed her death in ME2. I'm currently doing a more complete import save and I always drop by her desk when I'm at the Presidium. So far I'm not pst repeats of the first convo with her.

no, if you talk to the sales rep, near the star charts console on Illium, in ME2 you'll have your answer to that question

Edit: CottonBALL beat me to the punch
