Just out of curiousity, completly off topic but, Im considering buying Dragon Age - Origins + all dlc, is it really worth buying ? i've heard mixed reviews and just wanted to ask as im sure alot of you have played it or still play it. Thanks in advance
if you ask me..... Yesssssssss it is certainly worth it
it is a completely different experiance but in my opinion 100% worth of every penny
but i think i'm a bit biased lol
(after 30+ Playthrougs) of about 100 hours each (if you do almopst all sidequests)
it is more RPG than ME *put up flame shield*

There has been word of an Ultimate Edition which apparently contains most - if not all - of the DLC, though. Might want to hold out for that if it turns out to be true.Leoism wrote...

I'd say yes, but it's a different set-up from Mass Effect. Everything revolves around Shepard -- story and camera angles. In DAO, you can hop on different members in your group and watch from a bird's eye view if you want. You can micromanage everything. The companions are more interactive and there are a ton of community driven mods that enrich the game. Just be aware that this isn't going to be like Mass Effect where Shepard's story continues in all three games -- the warden that you play in DAO is getting replaced by a different character in DA2. We can supposedly import our saved games from DAO into DA2, but I think that just carries over our choices. We can only play as a human in DA2 whereas we could be elves or dwarves in DAO. I think DAO is a good game and I've played it a million times. There are some things that we don't know if they will ever be resolved in a DLC or a sequel so go into it expecting DAO to be a stand-alone game. =pLeoism wrote...

Mass Effect and DAO are both good games. Just different and I don't do the "one is better than the other" analogy because they both meet different needs. Read reviews for DLCs before you buy them. Can be hit or miss. None are crucial.

I thought the story felt very fleshed out and personalized, and now I want to play through the game as an ass.
The thing that turns me off is that there are several LONG, and UNNECESSARY parts of DAO that bored me the first time through. For example, the Fade took me a while to complete and it was outright boring. Another example would be how long it takes you to reach the Golem anvil in the dwarf section. There are limits to my patience.
Also, Bioware pulled a fast one on me and the game wouldn't allow me to play unless I was connected to the internet via xbox live. This is likely from the mini-DLC I got for playing the flash game online. This is an unacceptable market practice, and it forced me to spend five minutes hooking up my xbox to my router via ethernet cable.

I just never could get into DAO, but I am pushing myself to play the game again. I feel like all of the other classes besides the warrior class are weak as the player character. (Though Wyne is Win)

I feel the same. You could easily end up losing interest if it takes too long.Kaiser Shepard wrote...
