So this is what a thread hitting critical looks like.
I'm still waiting for someone to threaten Bioware with Anthrax if no information comes out soon.
Unless I missed that already. That poster was trolling another thread
It's always fun when someone threatens BioWare or their families with ridiculous acts.
Unless they mean it. Then it's just scary.
BioWare, if you don't give info (real info) on LotSB this Tuesday... I will kill a baby

The Quarians, yes, but Tali... I think she will have the same type of role as Wrex had in Mass Effect 2. Its much jobb to give a character that might be dead a big role in a game.shnizzler93 wrote...

I think that her being non-killable is a good thing. I'm sure there are those who feel diffferently but, *shrug*.
If she had been killable in Mass Effect 2 then her role in Mass Effect 3 would have been much smaler.
My evidence? Wrex, Ash/Kaidan was killable in Mass Effect 1 and they have much smaller roles in Mass Effect 2.
Garrus and Tali was not killable and they had big parts in Mass Effect 2 (but sadly I dont think they will have any big roles in Mass Effect 3).
I'm sure that the Quarians will have a fairly significant role in ME3, therefore Tali, assuming she lived, will also have a big role.
I think:
1. Tali will be a person of power among the Quarians if she lived, a role that can easy be replaced by another Quarian if she died.
2. Tali will be wandering the stars hunting something if she was cast out and did not die or if they deside thatb giving her just one fate would be most simple.
One thing is for sure, she will not be a squad mate.

I agree, and for the same reason we probably wont see Garrus or Ashley/Kaidan as Squadmates either.Johnny Shepard wrote...

*sigh* because they can be killed. Bioware has this thing with death. If a character can die then they avoid that character as much as possible so they don't have to worry doing extra work for someone who could be dead.

Well, i think so too, giving a less intresting position to the character let the devs devlopping the story without making drastic change if the character is alive or dead, but, i'm confident that tali and garrus will be some exeption, because they are here from the first game and they are one of the most popular characters of ME.
... especialy tali, if she is not a playable squad mate in ME3, the whole forum will get burned or flooded by the talimancer : ))
Or may be, they will do like DAO2, assuming that tali and garrus survived no matter your save.
(in DOA2 it is assumed that morigan get the baby).

All of them could be dead, bringing them back as squadmates would mean that you also would have to make a character to replace them if they are, it would simply be too much work.PrinceOfFallout13 wrote...

However Ashley/Kaidan has a slightly bigger chance as squadmates since they werent in ME2 alot, just that short cameo on Horizon. I still think they wont be in the squad though.

Of all the killable sqaudmates they have the best shot because if Kaiden is dead then you get Ash and if Ash is dead you get Kaiden. It's perfect.

Not perfect if you consider that the team needs to be balanced, and switching out a sentinel for a soldier does not make for a balanced team.
If they don't get huuuuge supporting roles in ME3 it would just be wrong, but squaddies? I'm very doubtful.
On that note, I'm leaving.
Have a good day, and lets hope for more info on LOTSB soon!

Eh. idk about the point about squad balance. There's still a third slot anyway, and it's not like team balance is that important anyway. You can beat ME2 on insanity with literally any combination. I had a fun run with soldier shep, zaeed, and grunt as my main party.

When it came down to the suicide mission the only one that were useful were those with warp (for taking down barriers and armor) Also the only one who is supposed to balance out the team is yourself, the player, the teammate just compliment your skills. So don't give me this balance junk, it's not a multiplayer game like a shooter or an mmo where balance is what keeps the game level.
If anything their "class" balance was from a story point of view, as it is more interesting to have Shepard recruit a mix of different professions and races rather than 12 human soldiers.
