i'll be pretty pissed if this mission is initiated by TIM via email. Seeing as i DONT WORK FOR HIM ANYMORE!!! I'M LOOKING AT YOU OVERLORD!!!

I guess Liara will be the one to send the email. The missions initiated by TIM are always associated with Cerberus and/or their interests, not so with the Shadow Broker.

If the audio files are to be believe we somehow obtain the information on SB location and share it with Liara, so she isn't the one who starts the mission, my guess then is TIM will be messenger, that or an anonymous tip from someone, maybe Feron escaped or was able to get a message out.

Eh? It's kinda obvious that all those DLCs (can't speak for LotSB, yet) take place before the suicide mission, even if you do them afterwards. It's really not worth getting worked up over.

Those audio files might not even be used in the dlc because of how it got released :) i hope they wont (not that i''ve listened to them) I'd prefer to listen/play when i get the full dlc :). It's annoying that there is actually people idiotic enough to post things like that, it's a spoiler imo.

Since I presume this mission will predate the suicide mission, I've put one of my playthroughs on hold. I think of it as Mass Effect 2: The Director's Cut (Liaraphile Edition)

Just curious, if the save transfer is like in Mass Effect 1 (when you complete a playthrough it saves a "hidden" file), what happens with regard to missions you complete after the suicide mission? Do decisions made in those carry over?

One would assume so otherwise it would be pointless to have them playable after SM

I'm guessing it wont operate the same. With the issues already present in the ME1->ME2 transfer, they've probably learned a bit from the process.

Considering ME2 allows for post-SM play, I suspect we'll be able to load savegames directly. As long as the SM is checked as completed, then it will allow the save to load, and any post-SM quests you've completed will transfer too.

EDIT: Incase anybody was wondering and, for whatever reason, counting down the hours until EA's press thingo at Gamescom, its in approximately 24 hours. Nearly exact.

What difference does it make, if this dlc is post suicide mission or not?

regarding the save transfer between ME2 and ME3, I believe that it will work on the same principle as ME1->ME2 transfer does. That will happen when the last story bridging dlc comes out. when you complete it, it will save a "special" transfer file with all your decisions. And those who won't have this dlc won't be able to import to ME3 because they haven't played the whole story. So, yeah, its unfair, I know, but that is how it is going to happen.

No. It's going to be like Dragon Age. Any save made after the "mission complete" flag is set can be imported instead of being linked to a specific end-game save.

Now, I'm in high hopes about getting the info or even possible release due to the Gamescom event tomorrow, but I guess they could just stick to the DA2 trailer...

Well, today happens to be the day that a few are theorising that further information relating to the Liara DLC will be released. Let's hope that turns out to be the case!

In a similar fashion to Overlord's release during E3, I hope that this DLC pack is released during gamescom over the next few days. I cannot wait!

Probably very little.   For example, if you started a new game then I would imagine that LotSB won't be playable before you meet up with Liara on Illium and complete her hacking requests.

If it's post Suicide Run then you'll get an email from Liara and probably have access to LotSB immediately.

Release date confirmation today, and the release of the actual DLC pack to coincide with the start of gamescom tomorrow. That's what some are hoping for.

Well they're on North American Mountain TIme, so I would say about 8:20am.

None.  I would just prefer to see the story move on is all.  I told TIM  what he could go do with himself and would prefer not to get missions from him (or at least a lot fewer) for now on.

This seems the most logical to me out of all the theories posted so far but that will still be complicated if you make multiple characters and they all complete a few missions after the story (all the DLC missions to be exact :P) and it'll be difficult to distinguish between which is which.

To the person who mentioned that you load the save directly, I have a problem with that.

With regard to the end of Mass Effect 2, I made sure the first ending I did was the Paragon ending and then I changed the date on my Xbox to 2007 and did the Renegade ending (this way, if it works like Mass effect 1 I'll be able to distinguish between which save has which ending). But, since I did it this way, I never made a seperate save for my Renegade ending (as, I assumed, it would work like Mass Effect 1) and each playthrough I did the same thing (I put the save back by an extra year though for every save so I'd know which character was first, which was second, third etc.) so if it does transfer that way I'll lose half of the end game saves.

Honestly, I hope it works like Mass Effect 1 -> Mass Effect 2 but instead of loading the end game save, it loads the end game save and the character (so everytime you win the game, it saves like it does in Mass Effect 1 but then that save is updated with any additional missions done for that character).

I wouldn't expect to hear anything for a few hours yet. After all, the Liara DLC itself was announced at around 5PM BST, and it's still 3:30PM at the moment. I'm patient!

Would be cool if they announce the release date today and say its tomorrow, that way it will match that one fellow said, about not waiting long.

Edit: Question.

How would they announce the release date? Post in the thread, update it, or start a new one?
