huh? if they bundle both ME1 and 2 together, why would they have to change it.

It wouldn't be any more "n00b" friendly than mass effect 2 already is, they wanted people to not have to play the first game sooooo....your statment is not valid  (and if you own a ps3 chances are your a pretty hardcore console gamer)

Well, I am of the opinion that the entirety of the Liara/Shadow Broker/Shepard's corpse story arc has been greatly expanded, rewritten and revised and that consequently any dialogue that may have been recorded prior to the completion of the DLC would have been cut, and is trash. Additionally, from what I understand, those audio files detail BioWare's original intentions behind Liara's reasons as to why she would not join the squad in ME2, which is obviously a necessity to ensure that she survives to appear in ME3. However, I don't think it is wise to discuss those audio files hear, as some may wish to avoid learning of their content, like you said.

Do want. You could PM me, and I'd certainly love you for it. Though I could just google it....but that means I'd have to stop playing battlefield longer than I want to, lol.

Uhm... I think it would make more sense that IF the ME games will be ported to the PS3 they would start with ME (1). But of course that won't happen because Microsoft at least partially owns the publishing rights of that game.

if it was proffitable to make a PS3 version of ME2 you can bet your <insert body part> that EA would have gotten on that ASAP... and also; 360 and PC game creating is very very similar, the PS3 game coding is vastly diffrent and more dificult...

Idealy, yes, but not necessarily. A well constructed recap video, possibily even interactive, would be sufficient enough.

It wouldnt be the first time a sequel or such has been ported to another system where the original didn't exist at all, and it certainly wouldnt be the last.

Financially, its a bit late for Mass Effect and probably not worh it. Mass Effect 2, though, only came out this year.

don't know about publishing rights but what if tey re realeased the franchise with next generation (ps4) with updatated graphics and stuff like their doing now (none are from other consoles though)

Microsoft owns the publishing rights to that game.  They gave EA permission to publish ME1 on the PC which is why EA is the publisher for ME1 PC.  In the deal they probably required EA to only publish any ME trilogy games (2&3) on the PC and 360.  Microsoft is a business and they aren't stupid.... they don't want their competitors (Sony) getting hold of their profits.

Exactly, I was confused more than anything when I got my copy of ME2 especially when you reach the beginning of the suicide mission segment (heading for the Omega 4 relay), the second you make that decision with Joker & EDI = black screen with prompt "Please insert disc 1"...huh1?!

Take Bethesda as a prime example of what can be done in terms of the sheer amount of base game content that can be placed onto a single DVD disc - Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and Fallout 3 being prime examples; just the main campaign of Fallout 3 without touching any additional DLC took me over 100 hours to finish. Compared to ME2 which only took me 34 hours on my very first playthrough and they tell me to switch discs to play the endgame!

Wait why would they need to make it noob friendly on the PS3. ME and ME2 arent even hard games. Not even close. It would bring it to a bigger audience. Ive always thought of and ME edition for PS3 both games on 2 blue ray discs in one package. But It aint going to happen, ME is on xbox.

You know that data size =/= game length, right? Bethesda's titles and the Mass Effect games are very, very different.
