If the rumour of Genesis is true (but, let's face it, an announcement that big would likely be at E3 and there is a rumour of Mass Effect on PS3 coming up to almost every game conference so, even though I hope it's true, it seems possible that this is just another one of those rumours that have no basis what so ever) then the DLC release date would probably be announced too (as if Genesis is announced, according to the rumours it will have all DLC aswell which would probably include Lair of the Shadow Broker).

Whatever...I just want some post ME2 ending dlc because as good as the game was...it doesn't feel complete....I don't know...maybe because it was all recruiting characters for 1 mission instead of using the recruited characters for many missions like ME1. It was one hell of a mission though.

I can't say I agree with you, but it's partially due to the fact I can't really grasp what you're saying here.

I think it's safe to assume that in a company the size of Bioware, you can have a bunch of programmers (even designers, if some rehauling is done in-game) working on a port without it interfering in the design work of a major ME2 expansion or ME3 itself. Sometimes throwing more people at something won't make things go faster...

Ugh, Bioware release the DLC already or at least a date so I can stop staying up all night trying to dig for info.

I'm dying to get to know the release date. I'll be occupationally restrained for months to come and won't be able to enjoy LotS till Christmas if Bioware weren't to release it prior to September 5.

I guess many gamers fear Bioware could spend too much of their ressources on a port to the PS3 so they'd need to wait longer for ME3.

As long as nobody pulls one of those "exclusive new content ONLY for PS3 owners!" style scams I have no problem with Mass Effect going to the PS3, so long as it doesn't interfere with ME3's development. Get a third party studio to develop it and that shouldn't be a problem though.

Exactly my thoughts too. Thankfully if it did happen, Im sure that would be the outcome. I imagine Bioware Edmonton is far too busy working on new ME content to waste time and effort converting old content to a new platform.

The only other thing I would say is if it must be done at the insistence of PS3 fans or executives seeing a profit in a PS3 port please, please, please do not let it further influence what is sure to already be a "stand alone" and "noob friendly" ME3. The last things thats needed after the joke that was ME2 is more time being spent making sure everything is friendly to "new PS3 fans" on top of already wondering if its friendly to "new fans in general". This is supposed to be a continuing story after all.

PSXE Poll Update: Most PS3 Fans Desire Mass Effect 2

Considering the number of role-playing fans we've got at PSXE, the result isn't much of a shock.

It was only #5 on our list of Top 5 Titles PS3 Fans Wish They Had, but it was #1 from the reader standpoint. BioWare's Mass Effect 2 was often rumored to eventually arrive on Sony's machine, and although it never happened, we're all assuming the EA-published third installment will be truly multiplatform. BioWare gave us Dragon Age: Origins (and next year's Dragon Age II), right? But in the meantime, one of the generation's best RPG franchises is not currently available on the PS3, and most of you miss it. However, most games on the list got plenty of attention, and the runner-up - Gears of War 2 - was a close second. Nipping at its heels was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and so many others were very, very close. In fact, it was one of the closest polls we've ever seen right across the board; only Forza Motorsport 3 lagged far behind, although perhaps that's because Gran Turismo 5 is right around the corner for PS3 owners.

Absolutly Agree !

I don't understand why people assume that making bridge DLC takes away from efforts on ME3.  It makes no sense.

Bioware is not exactly a little 10-man company designing games in their basement.  ME3 almost certainly has a dedicated team working on it that does ME3, and ME3 only.  Any development being done on DLCs is being done by different teams of designers, and so they have absolutely no bearing on when ME3 is going to be done.

I don't have a problem with it going to PS3, but I am not a console gamer. I prefer pc. That being said if it does go to PS3 I hope they at least get another team to do the work, and leave the current team working on DLC's and ME3 for PC/Xbox.



I guess if they at least respect the fans that made Mass Effect successful then it wont be a problem.

I am a PS3 owner myself and even though I would probably not buy the PS3 port(because I have them for PC already)
I think the more people get to play it the better, same with the PS3 exclusives.
