You do realise that bringing the game to PS3 is going to cost a lot of time and money? It isn't a free deal. If the game flops on PS3 there won't be more money.  

It costs nothing.....they have the voices models etc.....they only need to port it to the ps3.

And you think they just flip and switch and it magically ports?

I should qualify that statement by saying that it's not just about ME going to PS3.  I would be happy if all PS3 gamers got to play great 360 games, just like I'd be happy to play all of PS3's exclusives.  I'm not a console war kinda guy.  I think those kind of things are generally stupid.  It's more just the direction Bioware has taken in general since signing on with EA.  I think we were all kind of hoping they would be immune from all the cheap ways that EA likes to nickel and dime their customers. 

I just feel like ME2 was more mainstreamed than ME1 (although I still think ME2 is a superior game in many ways, I just feel like they took the easy way out with some design decisions).  This seems to be a trademark of EA branded products.  The cerberus network thing seems to have been somewhat misleedingly advertised as free DLC, but almost all substantial DLC has been paid DLC.  It's the same thing we see in other EA games like Bad Company 2, Madden with the new online multiplayer payment that has to be made for used copies of the game, and the fact that every game released by EA is released on every single platform known to man.  Again, I'm not opposed to other people being able to play ME, but those kinds of things take development time and resources that could otherwise be spent on adding features and content to the game on a single system.

I think that comments made by game designers like Casey Hudson and Christina Norman regarding criticisms about certain features have been mostly PRish statements that have a defiant take-it-or-leave-it tone rather than one of game designers who just want to make the game the best they can.  I think this is also a reflection of EA's influence.  I don't think pre-EA Bioware would be so focused on expanding to new platforms as it would be in showing off a recently announced DLC that has been lauded as being substantial enough to be a borderline expansion.  We haven't heard any details on the DLC since they announced it originally.  That's what the people who have spent their money paying Bioware's salaries really wanted to hear about, but instead all we hear about is how they're going after fans who haven't paid them a dime yet.

Being a n00b to the forums, I have to ask--does updates/announcements only happen on Tuesdays? Meaning we have to wait til next Tuesday for the announcement?

I'm going to guess this is partly directed at me. First I agree with you that the console wars hurt everybody and that's my point someone is going to get a different dlc than someone else and we will all suffer. Second did I ever say that all ps3 users were as bad as the fanboys or that I hated them no I said that ps3 fanboys might come over here and cause trouble with the already large xbox community and no one wants that. I'm going to take something from okeer and say now that the biggest insult is to be ignored and I'm hoping that when they come I will have the strength to ignore their bragging and bashing of the xbox 360.

The announcements/updates usually occur after Major Nelson announces the content... seriously.
