I'm thinking... Would Polish/Hungarian/etc. players be able to work around this issue by registering their CD keys in the EA Downloader and downloading an English digital version of the game?

English Fable II DLC is compatible with east European version. Its not localized, which makes it somewhat weird, if you use one of the non-DLC languages, but it runs just fine.
Yes but what I am saying is they can't add the localisations and keep it UNDER the 2gb limit that XBL has. Now from what I can see the Fable 2 DLC was around 500mbs so you can clearly see they are no where near the upper limit for DLC on the xbox 360 and could add as many localisations as they wanted.
Now the DLC for Mass Effect 2 has been getting bigger and bigger. The PC version of Overlord takes up nearly 1gb of space so if this new DLC is as "extensive" as we are being led to believe it isn't unfair to think that some localisations were missed out to keep the DLC under the 2gb limit that MS has imposed on XBL.

The XBLA limit does not explain the PC version.
Yep you are quite right there is no XBLA limit on the PC version, I am a PC gamer myself and download stuff from steam regularly. Even downloaded the 29gb Force Unleashed from steam. I get the feeling that Bioware came to the conclusion that if Polish Xbox users couldn't get the DLC then it would not be fair to allow Polish PC users to get it either.
I dunno I am just speculating, it would be nice to know just what the "technical" issue is ? I mean this is the 21st century the Xbox and PC is supposed to be a "next gen" piece of equipment and yet here we are with a company like Bioware saying they can't add three languages because of "technical issues".

Believe me, we tried to make it work for these languages. DA was able to release English DLC for these localized versions of the game, but that isn't the case for us. On the Mass Effect side, it isn't as simple. By allowing the players of these versions to use the English DLC, there would be large scale changes to the main-game player experience. We didn't want to sacrifice the quality of the main game, and tried to work around this in various ways. In the end, unfortunately, we were unable to come to a solution which allowed us to release this content in these territories and keep the same level of quality from the main game.
I'd like to personally apologize to anyone in these regions who are dissapointed, and please know that it wasn't an easy decision to make.
Thank you very much. I'm done with you, BW. Anyway, you're great. You can lie so fluently. All your slaves believe you, I'm sure.

On the side note i think after this "event" EA and Bioware can start to count rather huge losses for future ME 3 sale in Poland and all affected by this "technical issues" countries because fans will not forget how we were treated by those two companies...
And for the GOD SAKE if those files are really too big for electronic distribution then WHY NOT release this special DLC as disc based ME2 Add on and distributed via shops?
I have a feeling that just before ME3 launches we could see a GOTY edition of ME2 that has all of the "up to date" DLC. Probably not, but still...It'd solve some problems of some folks in other countries not having access to the content.

Can I get a straight answer if one of these versions which were changed into 100% English by copying INT file (I forgot the exact filename) from the English version will be compatible? I don't think it is any different than English version now.

The Fable II DLC is NOT localised. All the texts from the DLC are English while the texts from the original game are in whatewer language you choose in the menu.charmingcharlie wrote...

You can have non-localised DLC running with the localised game. As such the size of the localization data alone was probably not THE issue.

I seriously wonder the same thing of late...What's the point in getting angry over a game? Seriously?!

I can't really comment on Fable 2 I have never played it. So you are saying there was no localisation in Fable 2 ? that is Fable 2 and it obviously works well. However for Mass Effect 2 Bioware obviously is under the impression that localising the DLC to match these territories is an important issue and it couldn't be done for "technical" reasons. So they felt that releasing a non-localised version would break the game and so they aren't doing it.
I still believe the reason Polish, Hungary and Czech are going to miss out is down to the file size of the DLC. If they add these languages it pushes the DLC over the 2gb limit. However unless Bioware actually tells us what the great technical hurdle is, we will never know.

The Shadow Broker is not a single individual. The Shadow Broker is a single individual at ANY GIVEN TIME.
TSB has existed way before humans were even known to the rest of the galaxy, so I think its a chain effect-
Someone will be the Shadow Broker. When they feel they're time is running short for whatever reasons(age, someone looking to kill them, "suicide mission" of sorts), they find a pupil to become the new Shadow Broker and take over the necessary business of collecting, purchasing, selling, and distributing information across the galaxy.
Feron being the current Shadow Broker(or someone Feron works for).
Everything Liara went through to get Shepard's body back was a test. The Shadow Broker got involved and made sure Liara would find out it was "him".
Thus, Liara would get involved in the information trade business and eventually gain enough sway to finally take "him" down, Liara then becoming the new Shadow Broker in the process.
Its just a theory. Personally, I'd rather it NOT go this way, as I want the Shadow Broker to survive for ME3 and possibly beyond.

That's an interesting theory, actually. I don't see them doing this, but it would be something.

ya know, this is totally random and maybe a bit late... but in one of the new screenshots tali is holding a shuriken sub. I know it's just a screenshot, but I wonder if bioware has made changes to your squademates load outs?
Alot of squadmates wield weapons they can't use in cutscenes. Suicide mission being the best example!
