For those of you that can speak and read English well . . . is it still not going to be available to you?
You'd think they would have learned from the bizarre thing . . . it seems like a significant amount of Liara fans are from Eastern Europe . . . this is very bad. I am thinking ME3 is probably my last video game. This is stupid.

Bioware stated some time ago that "DLC will add some stories which will link up the plot from ME 2 with ME 3" so my question is, how many plot disruptions polish/czech/slovak/hungarian fans will have? How many DLC wont be availaible for us because of some f***ing "technical issues"????!!!!

you can always import your games from other Countries like Switzerland or Great Britain.Asheer_Khan wrote...

In the Nordic countries, hardly anything is ever localized, because a long time ago we all decided to STFU and learn English. Therefore, it's kind of hard to feel any sympathy toward you guys...
In many cases main publisher (like EA) practicly force local publisher to full localize game and right now it's really rare cases when local publishers are allowed to set up option to chose instalation of original version.
In case of ME 2 we get pure localized game without any chance to made switch to english version during installation.
Considering the history of east European countries and Finland, you are bit of an a..hole here.2kgnsiika wrote...

maybe we really should send some volunteers under BW QH and so maybe then they will do something about it....Ashii6 wrote...

I asked the same question a few pages ago. But so far I don't see any respond.

This gives you the full english versions, just maybe not with localized subtitles for your language.

It is not only the case of downloading. Let me sum up few theories and speculations that rose up from the beginning of this whole problem...
1. Polish/Czech/Slovak/Hungarian people wont be able to download the game because of "technical issue".
2. They won't be able to play in their native languages
3. They won't be able to play without risk of destroying saved games (the DLC - according to Bio/EA can interfere with files and corrupt them...)
4. All 3 points above together...
And still i do not understand any of them, well maybe the 3. point. If someone is playing in polish/other than english version - the game may "save itself" differently, and DLC with Liara saves differently too...
But why it works with Russian, and other languages? ...
BIO - YOU'VE MESSED UP!
let me answer few of your doubts -the files save in A SAME MANNER i played half of the game in "native mode" than after "woozowoozo" with the ini file and becoming EN-version all stayed same as things like saves are game-engine-related issues and language is a -interface-layer-issue and those DO NOT INTERFERE WITH ONE ANOTHER DIRECTLYsmykulfc wrote...

I wanted to give a bit more insight into the Polish, Czech and Hungarian builds for our fans.
Believe
me, we tried to make it work for these languages. DA was able to
release English DLC for these localized versions of the game, but that
isn't the case for us. On the Mass Effect side, it isn't as simple. By
allowing the players of these versions to use the English DLC, there
would be large scale changes to the main-game player experience. We
didn't want to sacrifice the quality of the main game, and tried to work
around this in various ways. In the end, unfortunately, we were unable
to come to a solution which allowed us to release this content in these
territories and keep the same level of quality from the main game.
I'd
like to personally apologize to anyone in these regions who are
dissapointed, and please know that it wasn't an easy decision to make.

Large scale changes to the main-game player experience? Sacrifice the quality? Wait, what?
What if these mid-european gamers switch the game language to english? Will there still be large scale changes to the main-game? Idk, but this sounds like a bunch of horsecrap to me. And all this info is a little bit vague.
And after all, this is bad for you for a number of reasons.
Like giving up potential profits. You do realize that people are willing to pay for this and support you with your thier money, right? And you probably also realize that if they can't pay for the content, they will simply get it for "free". In a way you are supporting piracy just like any piece of region locked media out there.
And once again you are giving yourself a bad name not just among your mid-european but global ME fans. First the epic (US only) community event, now this. You sure know how to ****** of your fanbase. And your global fanbase is one of the reasons BioWare is what it is today. I don't think you guys appreciate this quite enough.
I personally don't have a problem with this issue because I have a UK version of the game, but tens of thousands of gamers will. So, work your magic and get this DLC available (localized or not) for these 4 countries.
I mean it is totally up to you wheater you want to get paid for your work or "give away your content for free".
