Why did you assumed that I havn't done this?
I've sent 3 masseges to Chris Priestly and  Michael Gamble and they didn't answer.
I did this in polite way, I'm not a red neck, I know how to speak politely.

It's weekend - and Chris is at the San Diego Comic Con right now, at their Dragon Age II presentation. May take a little time before you get any additional explanation, besides the post from Michael.
Honestly, I understand your anger. It's quite strange that this DLC won't work with some european localised versions, while other localised versions (like german, french, russian, and so on) are fine. What's the difference between those, and the polish/czech ones? Can you think of anything, besides the german or french market are much larger? Maybe, but that's just my guess, the cost for local voice actors is just to high to warrant translation for those small countries. If so, why don't say it - people take the real reason likely better then being left in the dark.

And - on the "real" topic - I'm really looking forward to this DLC. I just wish it'll be the first one of those meant to bridge the story between ME2 and ME3.

You obviously don't know anything about writing code, so don't assume that there is some way of fixing this problem when the professionals have already said they can't.

I would argue with the term "professionals" if they lack the ability to fix flaws in their own product but hey I am old fashioned that way.  I have to say I am re-evaulating whether I want to carry on supporting the Mass Effect franchise myself.  This issue doesn't really affect me since I live in the UK.  However the kind of support and lack of professionalism that BIoware has shown with this issue really absolutely amazes me.

I never thought I would see a company treat it's users with such contempt and yes I would say releasing a "hey guys we tried, couldn't fix it, tough luck, bye" statement is pretty contemptuous towards it's user base.  I am really starting to wonder where BIoware got this rep as being a "premier" developer.  This DLC mess should never have happened and it really highlights severe short comings in a company that cannot fix their own product.

What do you want them to do. They already said they can't fix it.

Let me give you an analogy. Say I had to design seven different skyscrapers for a company and there were built in different cities. From the outside the towers may look the same but each one will have different internal structures to compensate for different wind conditions and the different soil compositions they are built on.

No say that same company wants me to install a new power system for the building that is more efficient but in some of the towers I cant install them because the internal structures are different and would not support them. Even if there was away for me to install them it would make the new system less efficient in those buildings. In this case there would be no point in installing them, because the tower would have power outages.

So its better to have the old power system with no problems than install a new better power system that has issues.

It was a long analogy but i feel its accurate.

So you assume your entitled to a response? Do you think your the only one who sent them a message? What of the thousands of other fans who sent messages? You expect them to explain it to each and every one of them in their own little PM box? Your more elaborate answer from Bioware will most likely come in a forum post/announcement. Where everyone can see.

class starts in a few weeks, I don't want to talk about it. I thought it would be an improvement when i switched from physics but CS is its own kind of monster.

Which is why I hate it when people assume Bioware can just easily fix these technical issues.

More than half the people here don't even have a basic understanding of game development. Especially with the top engine in the industry. Can't exactly expect them to, but still it's annoying when they answer everything with "patch it" or something. "patch the helmet toggle" "patch the removable parts" etc...

Their ignorance is the base of their assumptions. If they knew the process, they wouldn't be saying half of the stuff they're saying here.

I'm still hoping we get a helmet toggle someday, as hard as it'd be to implement. lol

In a Czech one, there are no local voice actors, voices are original, only subtitles are changed ;)

I'm not saying I'm waiting for official e-mail from Ray Muzyka. My point is that yet no one from BW said what is really the matter.

We might, who knows? Seems like they're making some core system changes in terms of gameplay according to Christina Norman. She hinted at the biotics being buffed, and being able to retrain powers for the squaddies. Who's to say that there isn't more? Something similar to EG's "Titan Update". Meaning it's a big update that changes quite a lot of stuff.

It took you that long to realise.

A poor attempt at trying to drag this back on topic: I'm really looking forward to this DLC. I can't wait to find out what caused such a huge change to Liara from ME1 to ME2.

Well thats the impression I got from your comment :D. Bioware just announced this a few days ago. Or a day ago, I forget. We already have the comment from Michael Gamble, and he said more information is on the way coming into August. Most likely they will have an announcement regarding the matter, and will divulge the details. Most likely. Or they will simply answer on the thread. I'm sure Bioware is upset about this. Don't make it worse by flaming them. ;) (Not you specifically, but others on here from those 4 countries).

Well until we know the issue, we can't exactly assess the situation. Lets wait for more details. It might have something to do with the localization companies or something. Right now, it's anybodies guess.

There are some things that cant be updated. Thats why updating your operating system can sometimes mean you loose all your data from the old system. This is especially the case when many of the core systems in a game are on the disk. They can make an update that rewrites your disk.

I was just commenting on the fact that it might be consider erroneous by some to call Bioware "professionals" after this latest mess and their inability to fix their own game.  You can chuck as many analogies as you want at the situation it doesn't change the fact that a decent number of Mass Effect fans and customers are now going to be left out of the story line and implications of this DLC.

Everyone is concentrating on the technical issue of fixing this problem.  There are alternative solutions to this that Bioware as a company should consider if they value their customers and future sales in these territories.  Firstly I understand PC users can download the international version via the EA download manager, so that is them sorted more or less.

The xbox users in this region are more problematic, however the problem isn't unsolvable.  I imagine some sort of exchange service could be carried out for those affected by this problem.  In other words those with the localised versions of the game can send their disc to EA and receive a replacement international version that will work with this DLC (obviously the user would have to cover postage and packing).

Now is Bioware obliged to do this ?  No of course they aren't but hey there I was under the impression that Bioware "cared" about it's fanbase, I was under the impression that Bioware was a premier developer that cared about their product and it's customer base.

What is not acceptable is just releasing a statement going "we tried to fix it, we couldn't, tough luck, bye".

Do you have any proof that they're *not* looking into any of this, as an alternative to not releasing the error'd DLC to the four countries? Because if you do, then fine, stay in here and shout all you want. But if you don't, you can't accuse them of anything until they come forward and say, "We're not looking into ANY WAY AT ALL of fixing this with an alternative method".

We should all just get back to talking about the actual DLC itself whilst we wait for more info. Like I said before. Along with others. About 5 hours ago.

I'm not going to bother reading that WOT but in response to your last sentence - What exactly do you want them to do? What else could they do? If they can't fix it, they can't fix it. What more is there to say? "Oh sorry guys, since your not getting it because of technical issues, we're going to ship out boxes of chocolate to all of you. Goodbye".

They've done all they possibly could have done. If they could fix it, they would have. Why do people get the impression that Bioware is intentionally trying to screw their country? If that's the case, what made them choose your country over others?

Just give them the chance to explain what the problem is before you go flaming and bashing the company. Most likely they will end up fixing it in the long run. On DA:O DLC was released for PC and Xbox a while before it was released for PS3. Just give it some time, and wait for an explanation. ;)

Tell you what PoliteAssasin if you are not going to  show the common decency to actually read my posts then don't quote them or respond to them.  If you had bothered to read my post you would have seen I suggested a disc exchange service so that those with the tainted versions of ME 2 can exchange the disc for an international version that will work with this DLC.

Umm... wish I knew what's being fought about in the last couple topic pages. Here I thought there'd be celebration about the new DLC, but instead there seems to be butt-hurting going around for some people.

Anyway, just found out about the Liara DLC. Can't wait. Hopefully this makes her a full companion and romanceable again for all the Liara fans out there. I'll be getting this pack, though I never romanced her. Liked her character though. Hopefully we get some character-specific packs for the other squadmembers. I want a Garrus pack. =)
