But then why would he compete with himself over Shepard's body?

to further his F-ed up causes

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

it would be no different than darth sideous being the leader of both sides of the clone wars. did you think about that?... there could be reasons that TIM needed to play both sides of the battle

Reasons such as?

reasons that i have no clue about... i'm not one to speculate on reasons but there is room for the claim to not be dismissed

Room such as?

what ever reasons he could possibly have to do this. again i point to darth sideous

EDIT: this might be an idea... now i havent read any of the mass effect novels so forgive me if some of it contradicts with this. perhaps he originally had liara go find shep. eventually the collectors came to him offering the technology to build his own reaper for shep'[s body. so TIM then went to betray liara to try and get the tech from the collectors and failed so he brought shep back with the lazerus project and sent him to go get the reaper tech from the collector base

Awesome. That screenshot with Garrus, Tali and Liara was great.

Did you not read my post above? You can kill TSB. If you kill him, and he ends up being TIM like you say, where does that leave us in terms of plot? What if you do this DLC before the suicide mission? Oops, I guess its over now. The guy who's giving you intel was just killed by a blue squid headed chic.

The Shadow Broker is not TIM.

I bet it's a turian. Don't ask me why, he just strikes me as one... or a volus. (Preferably the biotic god)

Either an Asari, Krogan or an AI.

John Henry Eden anyone?

TSB will probably end up being an AI. The rdemption comic has an image of shadow brokers holographic avatar. Interesting twist would be if shadow broker was a reaper AI that was left behind to monitor all information on organics in the galxay.

[sarcasm]yes because without tim shep would go home get some well deserved R&R and let the reapers destroy all life[/sarcam]

i have not seen anywhere that specifically says that this is a pre-omega 4 mission. so what about those who told TIM to kiss their asses?

Dude, it's not The Illusive Man. It isn't. He even said that TSB was a rival of his. It makes absolutely no sense. And don't bring up that Darth Sideous argument. He played both sides because he ended up taking over the galaxy. TIM is concerned with human dominance. If he was trying to give Shepard to the collectors, the reapers would win and he'd be dead.

TIM's fate will be left for ME3. TSB could start the post-story DLC because TIM want's info TSB has concerning the Reapers. Shepard goes in and discovers it has to do with the now-dead-human-reaper. Shepard ges the info(And decides whether or not to kill TSB) goes to TIM, and has a temper tantrum. TIM doesn't care, and tell Shepard to get ready to "pwn sum n00ns".

It's really unnerving when forum software is not adapting to something like that, even so it should be unnecessary, it still should be able to do that.

gotta say, happy that the game is getting another dlc, but also dissapointed, was really hoping that the final confronation with the shadow broker would be saved for the third game, giving liara a reason to rejoin shepards team.

Liara should join the team in ME3 regardless. There's Reapers to fight.

It's been pretty explicitly stated in interviews that the reason Lira (and Ashley/Kaidan) weren't available in ME2 was because they "needed" to be alive for ME3's story. I'm sure she'll be recruitable come the next game so I don't really have any problems with the Shadow Broker plotline (maybe) being resolved by then.

If this is post-endgame DLC, all the better.
