All the places that are getting the dlc have pirate sites as well. You can find torrents for just about any game or dlc. Heck I had a friend with ME2 well before launch and he had all the bonus armor and weapons.<_<Kaorunandrak wrote...
Maybe they aren't putting releasing the dlc in those countries because several european web sites are hacking the dlc and putting it up for free download? Not sure and not trying to throw out accusations just know about 7 websites (2 of them are russian) you can go and download all the dlc for dragon age for free and hacked so you can use it.
like i said its just a thought

As for the "scam" whilst I don't believe this is a scam I can see how this could be misconstrued as a scam. So far the only way people from the affected territories will be able to play this DLC is if they have an international English copy of the game. That means any one that has a localised version in Polish, Hungary, Czech and Slovenia will have to go out and purchase another copy of Mass Effect 2 to play this DLC. This is why I believe Bioware/EA should offer a free disc exchange service for those affected and it would show real commitment to it's customers.
That's a good idea...they should do this.

I could be wrong, and maybe it is a coding problem. We wont know until a rep says something official.
The fact that they have said nothing so far may be a good thing. They might be working on something to fix the problem, and are waiting to see if works. Then again that would not explain why they made their original statement.

And I can give you at least ten torrent sites with servers residing in the US where you can download the DLCs for BioWare games as well. Apart from that there is hardly any relation between the server's location and the location of both people downloading from it and people making and uploading the release.
Speaking of cracked versions of the game, if I won't be able to play this new DLC (without localization, I play in English anyways) with my version of the game, I think I'll stop buying BioWare games and go back to shamelessly stealing them like I did when I was a kid and games were absurdly expensive here. A few years ago I've bought ME1 (along with almost all older games by BW) only to find out that I cannot play Pinnacle Station because I happen to live in some kind of "lesser country". Now there's some trouble with ME2 DLC as well? Let me guess - again because there's some extra piece of copy protection code which differs between various regions? True or not it doesn't matter - if you force me to buy some regional version, then support it properly. Sadly the pirated versions really are a better choice. It doesn't bother me with annoying disc-checks, it doesn't have problems with DLC verification and it doesn't have region-specific limitations. Maybe I'd feel wringing of conscience, but why would I pay when I get treated like some second-rate customer?
And just by the way - is this what they meant when they said they'll compensate us somehow for North-America-only BioWare Bazaar?

Now the DLC is going to work with English versions of the game with no technical problems and no quality issues. So if they can't fix the DLC and they can't fix the localised versions it seems logical that the answer is to replace the localised versions with a version of the game that is compatible with the new DLC.
In an ideal world they should be able to fix this problem but we do not live in an ideal world. So if they cannot fix the problem then it is just human decency and good business sense to give your customers a solution. The only viable solution I can think of is to do a disc exchange so people with the localised versions can exchange their copy for an English version that is compatible with the DLC
As for Biowares silence that could be down to many things, perhaps they are hoping everyone complaining about this issue will get tired and the whole thing will die down, who knows ?

If you have an english version of the game, it doesn't matter where you are situated at.
It is the version of the game which determines what DLC you can get, as with the new DLC, if you are using a version that uses polish or other translations (I forgot the other countries, my apologies) then you can't get it.
At least that's how I understand it.
The DLC Servers are always filled to capacity when a new DLC appears, so I don't think an IP-Block would be a viable solution to hinder people from getting the files.
It would mean even less people get to download the DLC on Release Day...

Which makes me think they are doing a complete overhaul of the code and programming in the DLC using those localized version and then releasing it at a later date. If that is the case I hope they give you a guys a price cut or even make it free for you. Pinnacle Station wasn't that great so you really didn't miss much. Those missions were just easy completion and power usage achievements.

What's the point of announcing it if we don't even know when its going to be released? Only reason I see is to generate hype but they should know many people have been waiting for this already. Any guesses on timeframe? I want to time it so that I can reinstall the game, buy katsumi, this dlc and start fresh.
I asked this earlier and for DAO DLC, Kasumi, overlord etc they were all released almost a month to the day after they were announced.
So I went out and bought all the DLC's from ME1/ME2 and am starting a brand new playthrough with 100% completes... since I've never done any ME DLC. It's like a brand new game for me, I love it.

I said it because it already happened. It was during the Bazaar Event.

Considering how we were just talking about people accusing BioWare of being racist for not allowing certain contests to be applicable to certain countries. I was saying that it was simply against the law to let other ethnicities do it (because of our conservative views back then).
Ohhh and your sig BTW i think you would't have enoough money to that:D
