the ones that looked at e few screenshots of DA2 should have noticed that there will perhaps be new weapons.
the one with the fire like wave attack seemed to use a halberd like weapon.
what other weapons do you guys expect?

The weapon that Hawke holds in his marketing concept art, looks like a spear or something.

spears and halberds, interesting.
katana's already existed in DA:O but i would like a few more really. and what about throwing weapons like knifes and small axes?

I want my nagitata. The concept art is teasing polearms but I hope they don't just turn out to be fancy staffs.

and perhaps a few new designs for staffs? for as far as i know there are only 3 designs and 2 of them look very well alike

I've come to the conclusion that that weapon is half sword half mage staff, not an usable one for the game, but just to show the duality between melee fighter and spellcaster available, also hawke's armor could be rogue or warrior, or even light armor for mage

i dont see why,
1) we kinda live n medievel age style
2)what do we need bow and arrow for then?
3) it just dont fit lol
and halberds do work in my opinion if its for both mages and wariors.
peerhaps its sorta of a specialisation? like the arcane warior but then 10 times better

I'll just be happy to see spears make it. I would be even happier if a warrior could possibly use a spear in one hand and a shield in the other. But over all if spears/polearms make it then I will be happy.

you cant wield a spear properly in one hand and a shield in the other exept for in a formation when horses charge against you.
to properly slash and swing with the spear, you need your 2 hands.

why wouldn't guns fit? just because it's 'fantasy'? (wasn't Darklands set in medieval Germany? that had firearms)
and didn't the Qunari use cannons?
heck, the fact that it's fantasy can possibly work better in fantasy: can you imagine a mage using a firearm? no need for an actual mechanical firing mechanism like those on match/flintlocks
as for the bows & arrow comment: there's still the difference in rate of fire. early firearms were rather slow. there's also the costs involved: unless they're being mass produced, firearms would be quite expensive, I think.
I'd personally like a matchlock or a blunderbuss for the game.
(heck, I'll be honest: I wouldn't mind if they stuck in 'out of place' weapons, like, say, an MG3, FN P90, a blaster rifle from Star Wars, or a Peacekeeper Pulse Pistol/Rifle!

Rubber chickens always contain pulleys in the middle, so it could be a useful weapon...
I'd like to see some varieties. Maybe punch daggers (good old planescape) or other brawler type weapons. Also would like to see some variation for mages, not just a staff, maybe a sword and off hand or a mitre.

would be nice to see flails and their like. adds flavour.
never liked the weapons, tho'.
other than GUNS, I'd like to see 'single-handed weapons' w/ corresponding styles (chinese straightsword comes to mind...but not the overly 'flashy' stuff that's prevalent in movies or wushu demos).

I wouldn't mind seeing polearms/spears/halberds in the game. Never really played a warrior character that used those, and I was a little disappointed when the landsknecht kit was removed from Icewind Dale II during development. (Granted, all kits were removed when they switched to D&D 3.)
