Though really it only happened because the Turians overestimated their firepower or thought Sov would stop.

Turians suck at playing chicken.

Or they have ****ty depth perception.
Turian Commander :Keep firing, we have plenty of -Sovereign plows through them-

But they still broke the law even if no is sure how it happened. Which is why they lost their embassy on the Citadel. If you kill someone without intending to kill them, it's still a crime.

Yeah, but its manlsaughter instead of murder and in fact it may not be a crime. It depends largely whether or not the person's death was the result of negligence on your part.

Were the quarian engineers who designed the geth negligent? It's quite possible. It was extremely sadistic to judge the entire species that way though.

I mean, you do realize that a species is comprised of individuals, right? The overwhelming majority of quarians had nothing to do with designing the geth nor with the order to shut them down (which was reasonable decision by the government anyway). Yet you're quite content to judge their entire species worthy of extermination.

That's pretty harsh.

Do you not consider quarians alive? At least I don't consider the geth anything but machines.

Sovereign did take out a turian cruiser by bulldozing straight through it, though.

Yes, and I'm not saying Sovereign couldn't destroy the Citadel fleet all by himself (or come damn close). However in the actual battle Sovereign destroyed that one cruiser and then latched onto the Citadel. The destruction of the Citadel fleet was at the hands of the geth.

I agree. I do get the feeling he is in it for himself. If TIM were faced with a situation in which the absolute best thing for humanity was for him to step down and cede full control of Cerberus and the Cerberus cause to another leader, would he?

No I don't think he would give up full control.  I think if you gave him the base at the end dialgoue he says something like "Shepard you need me!" He would only step down IF he still was a major factor in decision making.  Then again that's not really stepping down or giving up full control.  He seems like a guy who doesn't want to be left out.

It was at least gross negligence as the Quarians began to program the geth for more and more complex tasks.  Regardless of intention, the developement of AI was a crime and it wasn't only  a few Quarians who had a hand in it but an institutionalized system promoted by the Quarians. If they hadn't panicked and issued that order, they could have averted the Morning War, they could have simply gone down to the Citadel or heaven forbid pay the Geth a meager wage for their labor.

And of course I consider the Quarians alive, they are one of my favorite races but that doesn't mean I ignore how badly they ****ed up when it came to the geth. I'm all for the Quarians to get their homeworld back since they shouldn't suffer for what their ancestors did but War or Re-enslaving the geth would only lead to more pointless suffering.

Go back to the "Cerberus is Humanity!" quote that TIM gives. He only gives a **** about Humanity because he can use it to gain more power for himself. If he thinks he can gain more power by selling humanity out then he'll be on that Faster than you can say "Jacob is interesting"

I'm hoping if you tell the quarians to push for peace and have the geth on your side then you can convince both sides to co-exist peacefully.  Maybe even live together back on the Quarian homeworld.  Or possibly convince the Geth to give back the Quarian homeworld back to the Quarians in exchange for another colonized home world.  Maybe after saving the galaxy from the Reapers Shepard can finally get enough leverage on the council and convince the council and alliance to help funding for colonize another planet for the geth. Hoping one of these options exist if you play paragon.

It's stated that the geth live on platforms above the planets, and I think that Legion said they were taking care of planets. I really am hoping that the Geth and the Quarians can reconcile and that you could pull the council to recognize the Geth as a species of its own.

There probably was something but then there was someone else who didn't want to have to pay for labor.

I think im in somewhat of grey area, "some" of their intentions are good but when it comes to means of accomplishing those goals they can be a little extreme. so i dont hate them but i dont love them either.

Paying machines for labor, brilliant. I wonder what the geth would buy with all that money?

Make them think they need status symbols, sell them space on better mobile platforms.

Perhaps to make any purchases necessary to contribute in securing their future? Enough to build the Mega-structure or Dyson sphere that they want perhaps? To acquire items or materials that they can't readily get for themselves?

It looks like the geth are pure Isolantionists then. If no one had seen them for 300 years or so, then I doubt they will come out to start fighting a war.

Besides I have always wanted a robot friend since I was like 10, so Legion fits right in.

I totally support Cerberus, the greater good is always more seductive then short term solutions. That is why I will always admire Tim's character.

Well its hard since TIM and Cerberus touch on many issues and ideas to keep it focused.

I did think he was pretty cool until the end, and then:

TIM: Goes on a huge power trip, fist power bumps, and rants included.

ME: Backs away slowly.

Its wierd that he is so calm for most of the game, and yet when the end hits he gets rabid almost.

He was probably elated that this cell managed to complete their mission! All joking aside, I'm with Cerberus but I still wary of TIM as it's obvious we only have little insight into his character. I still say Shepard for Cerberus leader in ME3.

No, I think you might actually be right about him getting excited. Shep performed above the call of duty and made his way to the heart of the Collector base. If you kept the base, then it turns out better then ever could have expected. I say Shepard gets the choice whether to put a bullet in TIM's head and hunt down Cerb, or rather a Bullet in TIMs head and take over Cerb. If you kept the collector base and take over Cerb, you could use it to gain control of the Galaxy.
