Lol.
Having principles is not the same thing as being naive, contrary to some of my opponents' thinking.
I agree with Miranda that we need a group like the salarian STG or the asari commandos. We need muscle. We need to defend ourselves. But it should not be Cerberus.
It should be a group that solidifies our formidableness and looks out for human safety and human protection, not human safety and human protection + human domination.
We need a Stargate Command, if you will. Someone out there defending us and acquiring new technologies, but also not trying to take over the universe.
How many people here are pro-cerberus?

As much as I hate that little Turdweasel TIM, not even he is dumb enough to antagonize the rest of the galaxy.

Nah, I think the people I'm arguing with (Shand) support Cerberus because they support human domination.
And yes, I think the Illusive Man's desire for human promotion does rather exceed what is healthy. "We can use this, Shepard! Against the Reapers and BEYOND!!"
Really, I think we should all settle down before we start telling each other to drop out of arguments. Can't we have a civil discussion?

You inflict your presence on us, why can't I inflict my presence on you?
Turnabout's fair play, and all that.
TIM would approve of my ruthlessness. Mwahaha.

Cerberus wanting human domination does not mean they want to take over the galaxy. It means they want humanity to be the dominant power in the galaxy so that they have little to fear from other species that might threaten humanity. I'm pretty sure that Shandepared understands this.
And what TIM means by the reapers and beyond is that it would be foolish to think that the reapers are the last or only threat to humanity out there.

TIM is willing to do what is necessary and that is to find a way to save the galaxy, which in turn means saving ALL species, not just humans. I think as other pro Cerberus posters have already said, that TIM wants humanity to always have an edge over the other species, not rule over them. He is not stupid, he will not want to provoke the entire galaxy into hating humans and have an all out war with them. He just wants to ensure our survival and our place as at least equals in the universe. The Council turned their backs on humans more than once. They refused to defend the Terminus colonies and they refused to accept the Reaper threat. Humans have to look out for humans first, the rest of the species can look out for themselves or just cease to exist. It's called the natural order. Reapers are imposing their version of that on all species unless we find a way to stop them.
TIM didn't ask for permission to fight the reapers, he's just doing it. No one else was going to do it. Whether you agree with him or not or his methods is really a moot point. You and all the other species you claim to love so much will all be dead if not for Cerberus efforts , and who knows that might still happen in ME3 although I doubt it. Because in my game I had enough sense to see this threat as a real one and save the Collector base. To me that was the whole point of ME2, we finally have something we can use that will hurt the Reapers. If saving the galaxy means thousands might die for the research to do it, I say it's well worth it to save trillions of lives. This very point was brought up in ME 1 with Anderson when he told you about Saren being willing to kill 1000 people to save a planet and asked if you would do the same.
Now if there was a way to save the galaxy and not kill anyone, sure I'd be all about that. But frankly, that's like believing that Candyland is reality. Wars costs lives, Reapers will take all life as we know it unless we are willing to do whatever it takes to stop them. That my friends, is exactly what Cerberus and the Alliance is all about. The humans that so many of you seem to hate being a part of, will be the key force in stopping them as soon as we can convince the other species that the Reapers do indeed exist despite the claims of the council. The council tries to represent itself as being all about the galaxy's well being and yet denies the biggest threat to all of the galaxy? How ironic is that?

This is part of why I support Cerberus. In the ME Universe we need someone pushing for human dominance, we need Udina and Cerberus because the only viable alternative is Council dominance and the Council has shown they don't care about anything outside their little bubble.Nightwriter wrote...
Nah, I think the people I'm arguing with (Shand) support Cerberus because they support human domination.
Someone needs to stand up and call the Council on their BS and only humanity appears to be in a position to do so, but we can't do that, can't force them to change to something more fair, if we agree to play their game by their rules.
Another reason I'm pro-Cerberus is because they encourage the Council to make concessions to humanity without us having to make concessions to them. A violent pro-human group with the ability, will, and resources to simply take what they want makes brow-beating the Alliance less appealing and less effective because eventually the Alliance is going to get fed up with it and turn to Cerberus (not openly of course) and say, "What have you got for us?" Obviously hiumanity still needs to make some concessions but they won't be nearly as onerous as they might have been.
I'm not saying humanity should dominate but neither should they accept a status quo that gains them nothing.
In defence of his word choice there's always going to be another threat, it's ridiculous to think that the universe will unite under a shining rainbow in a field of bunnies and unicorns just because the Reapers are gone. TIM's being realistic. Crazy, xenophobic, and power hungry perhaps, but realistic.Nightwriter wrote...

Their long term intentions confuse me but i'm fine with them at the moment since they seem to be one of the few powerful people who understand the Reaper threat. And Jesus Christ the guy brought me back to life! I should be thankful, and he's paying me a hell of alot of money.
If I could however, i'd leave if they did anything I didn't like and so far they haven't really.
I kept the collector base. Cerberus or not it will benefit the galaxy greatly in knowlage of the Reapers and how to stop them (even though I have a plan. It involves massive EMPs and Thanix Cannons.)
