Y'know, on the subject of 'bad boys', I was watching a Deadliest Warrior episode (shut up, explosions are sexy) where there was a battle between Jesse James' cowboys and Al Capone's gangsters. I may or may not have fainted.

Or like those cowboys. They don't need fluffy talk to tell you they love you. They'll shove you up against a wall and smother you with delicious, delicious testosterone. And then when you're all done, he'll cook up venison stew and biscuits over the camp fire without saying a word.

I hope I'm not alone in this. I really hope I'm not.

You are not alone in this.  I firmly believe there are few things sexier than a hard working man, especially when that man can fill out a pair of wranglers.Posted Image

Definitely not alone  There's something very sexy about the 'strong and silent' type. I mean, talk is great, but there's definitely a time and place for it!

And Valen was yummy! I seem to remember finding his voice very sexy too, same with Thane and Garrus. It absolutely makes a difference, when otherwise a character might be too 'alien' to find attractive. For me, anyway. x

Never got to romance Anomen completely - ALWAYS encountered some kind of glitch (second part of his quest not triggering, or triggering in the Underdark when we were all disguised as drow so I couldn't help him in time :-() So sadly, he remained pompous and self-righteous for me. Having said that, he was always in my group cos he was the best non-evil cleric in the game! I loathed him at the time, but in retrospect find him quite interesting. A character like Anomen, who starts off being very irritating, but gradually removes the stick from his arse as the game progresses could have some mileage.

To me, Anomen seemed immature and holier-than-thou at first.  Granted, he did get less annoying as the game went on, and I actually liked the romance ending.  However, I only romanced him b/c he was the only romanceable character for women without a mod.  I always liked Keldorn, except he was married.  I thought he was engaging and acted appropriately when he found out his wife was cheating on him.  I thought he had a good side quest in that regard, as it seemed believable.

And I saw Valen mentioned earlier - I loved his character even if I didn't romance him every time, although that's more fun.  The dialogue between Valen and Deekin is hilarious and I like both characters better because of it.

I loved Anomen. Not at first, but when I actually sat down and tried to figure out what my character would see in him, I became a big fan. Alistair always strikes me as Anomen with slightly different baggage (no father instead of an alcoholic, abusive father) and a sense of humor. He even gave me the rose in the Deep Roads the first time; Anomen always seemed to give it to me during the Unseeing Eye sewer crawl.)

I liked Valen, but he never really felt very fleshed out to me. Certainly not enough to make me want to write epic multi-chapter fanfiction about him, as I've done with both Anomen and Alistair.

However, I would have loved a Keldorn romance in BG2, and I'm sortakindaintoLoghain/Wardenpleasedon't shootme. And I have a serious crush on Varel. All of which is to say that it would be cool to have a sexy silver fox  to romance.

I think Thane would have been just a teensy bit too alien for me, if he didn't have that voice. Garrus, too. Guys asks us why alien love interests can possibly appeal (since they figure Tali and Liara look human enough to not ask)...

What's hilarious about that is that they've never even seen Tali's face.Posted Image

That has to be a large part of her appeal.  They can imagine anything they want.  :alien:

I am in your line of thinking... I felt the same way regarding Morrigan and I did not agree with the ritual thingy and she left the party for good.    I agree with you in that improvement is truly needed in the”affaire of the heart” department.  Like I stated before Alistair has his sweet moments, but does everything else wrong: sleeping with Morrigan scene is ONE of them, and that is unforgivable, especially if he is your true heart. Persuade or not, he should not agree to betray the woman he cares for deeply or have shared a bed with on occasions or often (depends how player interacts with him)

Really? I wasn't terribly bothered (besides the general glaring at the scene in question, and wishing Alistair had a better face on than "concern" or whatever) by it--he's doing it to save your life, and save his life. You ask him to do it--in fact, you can even play the love card and say "If you really loved me, you'd do this", which is sick and hilarious all at the same time. If he wasn't willing to sleep with Morrigan at my behest to save my life I'd be immensely more bothered.

When Morrigan approached me, I did not agrree with the ritual and Morrigan left my party.  Alistair made the ultimate sacrifice.

A couple of mine did this, but not all of them.  I like to try out every option there is.

In one part, there was this slick gangster who hosted a fancy dinner in suits and fedoras for some people who were ratting him out to cops, leading them on to think that he didn't know about their betrayal... Until at the end of the dinner he stood up to make a toast, and then instead pulled out a FREAKING CANE and smashed their heads in as an example.

And now I seriously want a mobster-esque LI. How badass is he?! It's pure confidence. Evil, yeah duh, but this is a video game and I am allowed to act out impossible fantasies, thanks. Imagine getting involved with the head of a huge, notorious gang. Imagine not knowing that at first, getting involved, and then hearing the reveal. Maybe getting the chance to disband it through him or, alternatively, 'replace him'. Someone who's kind of a slick ladies man, sure of himself, sharp dressed, with a snappy wit, and, and, and... guhhhhdfhsdfhka.

No.  But look what happened to Capone near the end of his life.

Isn't that why hero's often die before they are 65, unless they have to continue fighting the good fight, which would go a long way to keeping you fit.:)

A "male Morrigan" would be good. Maybe with a few of Edwin's traits thrown in for good measure.

"Flemeth this, Flemeth that... give me one thousand years and a swamp and I'll kick her arse."

I'm trying to think of an Iroh who isn't old, jawsome, and wise, and it's just not on.  It's like trying to see a younger Jolee Bindo or a toddler Duncan without the beard.  Does not compute.  Though I agree that Iroh is epic win.  Still, my Avatar crushes are reserved for the eevil guys.  I loves me some Ozai

The movie actually spruced him up a bit.  Shaun Toub played him in the movie (I liked it, they made the kids older, left things out, not greatest movie ever but I had fun.)

Ozai - has kids and a dead wife.   :)

He actually does have a fanbase.  I am among those who like him.  His romance makes him a much better character than when he remains unromanced.

I did like him, but I admit to turning the sound off.  :?

I edited all his sound files so he had a deeper voice. He was much cooler that way.

Well, we're all giving our opinion on what we'd like to see next. No different than any other "suggestion" thread--in fact, a lot of us run in tandem with what we want. And while romance is a big part of the game that we know they're going to dedicate zots to, saying who we'd like to fill these rolls isn't really asking for anything selfish.

Asking for a boob slider, however...

Correct this is not a dating sims.ROmance might be the smallest portion of the game.
While models are not.

Again. We know romance will be there. We're just throwing around our ideas of what we'd like to see. We're not saying "Oh we want twelve different romance interests, one who can die, one who's a bad boy, one who can dance the tango...". We're wondering and suggestion and commenting on what we've already got. We just don't know what it is yet.

I promise you romance interests are more important to almost every BioWare fan than models.
