Yes, Joss love is definitely there.   And I think Han was my first movie crush.  I was a late bloomer 26 and had never had a movie crush like it before.  I also liked Atton in fact he was about the only one I did like.  I of course turned him towards the light.    I made up my own ending because the game one sucked.

If we're talking Buffy, I'd like me some Spike - last season, after he's done with the whole stalker bit.  While I like Angel's character, he just seemed too willing to wallow in his ability to achieve true happiness, which can be a bit redundant....and would explain the continued wallowing.  And I love Gile's character.  His first season seems to channel the highly requested nerdy mage.

Spike. Yes. I much preferred him to Angel in the end (er, not counting psychotic Spike or attempted rapist Spike, of course) - and after all, he went out and fought for his soul, which was a great plus for his character imo. That scene with Buffy was just about the sexiest damn thing I've ever seen on television.

Another character I loved was Wesley - but not as he was in Buffy. I loved the evolution of the character in Angel from total wimp to ruthless badass.  Since DA2 spans a decade, I'd love to see character development like this among the companions/LIs.

Spike and Wesley - great romance ideas.  i also found Gunn attractive.  ok I liked them all and would be happy with any LI with their characteristics.   :P I agree that Spike earned his sole and turned into a great character.  OK off topic for a sec - one of my favorite shows was the Angel Muppet.  Seeing Gun Fred and Wesley walking behind Muppet Angel holding his sword.

Back on topic -  I think a LI like any of them would be great.  I hope they have us more than one LI.  I would really like
one that is good and one who is somewhat or totally evil who will leave or fight you, if you don't have the same outlook.
one that you can sway to your viewpoint.
And I would not mind having same sex options because some people like them. But I would like them to be separate characters and not just a couple of LI who are Bi-sexual.  I know it's just in my mind, but I had a little trouble thinking of Sky in the same way after he romanced my Tiger Shen.

No.  40 is a good age.  Some of us liked the idea of a character like Giles from Buffy.  Giles was born in 1955 so in 1997 when the show started he would have been 42.  40 is a great age.  :)  But so is 30.

There are some excellent characters here.  Someone else I also found interesting was Gil Grissom (William Petersen) from CSI - would definitely fit the slightly older, intellectual type that I'm very fond of

I'm also a Gil fan.  I am afraid I could have made my list twice as long and still missed some of them that I like. :)  I'm not sure, would this be a good mage character?

The only reason I have a problem with older characters is probably due to my own age.  My PCs tend to be around my age, give or take a few years.  Which makes any relationships with characters over 30-some feel rather...off.  I found Casavir creeptastic for precisely this reason.  I was like, "OK...I don't know who the Knight Captain's father was, and you're old enough to be her dad.  NO.  JUST NO."

Which also explains why I never got the Bann Teagan love until I replayed.  He didn't flirt much with my mage, because she was only 20 years old and I found the flirting a touch creepy :P

I for one would like another Alistair type. He made me feel and that's a huge part of the experience for me. I don't really mind what race or anything but the emotional aspect really gets me. How he's cute, shy, and most of all loyal. Cullin is a very close tie with that cause I'm all for twisted, jealous, overprotective love like that. He was so adorable in the mage beginning to. Come on, who doesn't agree.

Strong, not so boyish, well read, and not scared to speak their mind. Maybe a darker, well healed, and experienced version of Alistair. Duncistair! There we go.

Right, exactly (what is with you and voicing my exact--or close to--opinions?). Kaidan's age didn't bother me in ME1, since Shepard was an older adult as well. But, more often than not, a PC is towards a younger age, and older LIs (particular male LIs) make me cringe.

I honestly don't want an "older, more experienced" LI, especially for this game. If they're that old when we meet them--assumably somewhere early during those ten years--it'll get especially Squick once the ten years pass.

Older men are Hot! Being married to an older man, this is something I know about. Besides, maturity adds flavor.

Good point.  None of my characters are close to my age, and I really wouldn't want to be a character my age.  :(   But when I'm playing I do put myself in the gamer so don't think about the age difference, just how much I like the LI.  Does that make sense?

One of the reasons I like ME so much is Shepard is a little older than the usual 20.  I think I'm hoping that Hawke is between 25 and 30.  I don't have a problem with a 30 year old having a LI who is a young 40, but  20/40 is a bit on the ewww factor.

There's not really much flirting with him anyway (as far as I can tell), but, as in the case of Cullen, showing a little personal interest in the PC and being reasonable attractive goes a long way towards having a fandom.Posted Image

My mage flirted with him, but of course, I played the type of character who loved flirting with people in general.  I do find Teagan attractive though.

Me   But y'all have heard me rail enough against poor Cullen and his ilk.  I'll give him a break and make fun of some other NPC for a change :D

My schtick with age differences, IRL and in games, is that age difference is dependent on the age of the younger partner.  A four year old difference between a 14 and an 18 year old is pretty uncomfortable, where as the same difference with a 21 year old and a 25 year old is really not much of a big deal.  The thing is that no matter what, your own age, experience, perceptions, etc. will always color how you think of LIs.  Whenever I play a game, my age and my character's age both get taken into account, doubly so if my PC is around my own age.  Does that make sense?

As for an older LI for DA2, I'm ok with an 8-10 year age difference maximum.  That would put a relatively young Hawke at 20 at the game's start, 30 by the game's end.  The difference between 20 and 30, then 30 and 40, isn't too bad.  But that, I think, is my upper limit.

Tall, dark and mysterious.Someone with a bitter past who sets aside his own pain to help others.A man who denies his growing feelings for the lovely Hawke to protect her from a dangerous secret. But will he profess his love for her, or will he simply disappear from her life?
His flirting style would be direct and clever with a tinge of wicked humor.

The more I read that qunari thread that's going, the more I'm intrigued by a qunari romance. It's so utterly foreign to them. I imagine he'd have to choose between his identity and you, and doesn't that just make for glorious drama? Plus, we can be sure that he's never had a wife. Unless his quest is to find a kid he knows he had that became a Tal-Vashoth or something. Still. It'd be so different from other BioWare romances, I'd think.

And just look at those muscles...
