 If I cannot have my soft-spoken Templar, I'd settle for someone like this guy.

I must reiterate that Richard Armitage would be the perfect live action Loghain circa 9:15-9:20 Dragon.

Now every time I see Guy, I'm going to think of Loghain. Ohgod. Can't unsee.

@ Sabih:

Yes, I know what you mean. Altough Zevran had many requirements to be an interesting love interest especially concerning his personal story he wasn´t very interesting for me either.

I have to admit, that his appearence has figured too.

I wouldn´t mind either if starting a romance or convincing somebody to trust you would be a little bit more difficult.

I had a thing for Canderous in KOTOR and also for Zaeed in ME2. I want an older man, preferably human, who is confident and unashamedly badass.

Oh god Canderous.  UMPH.  And Sagacious Zu from Jade Empire.  I like older, bad*** guys too.

someone like Duncan but even more badass

I'm not a Carth-hater, but just from that experience? Please no.

I don't know, I didn't hate Zevran and he had some great moments, he just was very unappealing to me...maybe with a better accent and a tall, dark, and handsome look I would have cared more, but he was "blah". Now I only romance him to trigger "jealously" dialogues from Alistair.

Sorry, I haven´t played Mass Effect (?) so I don´t know Carth. What was the problem with him?

Carth Onasi is from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. He is hated by many because of his very outspoken distrust of your character and questioning your every motive. Also, he is extremely angst filled and tends to ramble.

He's from Knights of the Old Republic, actually (you're probably thinking of Kaidan from ME, whom Raphael Sbarge voices as well as Carth)...but his romance is:

I don't trust you!

I really don't trust you!

I'd tell you why, but I don't trust you!

I still don't trust you, but I guess I'll tell you why!

There's more, but then I'd have to trust you!

It's beyond obnoxious. Every conversation involves him telling you how much he doesn't trust you. I'm amazed Revan was capable of falling in love with him...again, not a hater, but he had some pretty stupid moments.

 I <3 Alistair so I would like another character that is sweet and funny like him and I'm sure that DG has enough resources, as a writer, to come up with something similar without the feeling of a recycled character.

And because I've seen others discussing NWN2:
I didn't like Bishop - if there was someone who deserved the wall punishment, it was him;
I didn't like Casavir - there was nothing to him, a blank piece of paper is more interesting;
I did like Gann a lot - he wasn't a paladin/knight, but he wasn't a bad boy either, not the way I perceived him.

Oooookay.. I understand. No, that wasn´t the kind of mistrust I thought about.
I´d like rather something like: We are enemies-> we are enemies but somehow you are very pretty ->we are.. well let´s go to the tent.. or something like this. Of course in a long, emotional and dramatic way.

Anything voiced by Crispin Freeman, would be great. More specifically, a mysterious, well-spoken and flirty man with a captivating voice. As for a female I'd prefer someone a bit less, "OMG MAKER?!?!" I found Lelianna extremly annoying with all her religious blabla and never got through the whole romance... Think I'd like someone a little more dominant and less shy, making me feel less like the man in the relationship like Lelianna did... Maybe someone like Jack in ME2.

EDIT: Long hair on the male romance is a must in fantasy games!

Carth was from kotor, that little scout kid, whose romance was like dating a high school kid with social problems. Bastila was a much more interesting companion.

Okay, I slowly get it. The aim for DA2 for most female players seems to be NOT to get Carth.

Hm. Perhaps I should fetch KOTOR to learn what I don´t like. :)

That didn´t work because it was extremly rushed in Awakening. Besides this getting his father killed by his Romance is perhaps not the best starting point.
But if you imagine f.e. a female mage and a convinced templar it would work.

Btw I thought that Nathaniel is an attractive guy too.

That's definitely a romance type that we rarely if ever get to see.  At least, I don't recall any from a BW game.

Not gonna lie, I find the whole templar/mage dynamic creepy as all hell.  The power difference between a templar and a mage in their jurisdiction is just too significant.  Though I did still romance Alistair with my female mage :lol:  That's different, though--Alistair's as un-templar-y as they come, and you're actually his superior despite him being the senior Warden.
