So, hey. California overturned Prop 8 today.

That's wonderful news!

Yeah, until they overturn the overturning.

Urgh if the Mormon church would just mind its own damn business we wouldn't have this problem. It's not even your state for crying out loud, you guys are from Utah! *shakefist*

Oh...this is just too easy to amplify...must...restrain...:pinched:

Explain.

They poured a crapload of time, money, and manpower into campaigning for Prop 8 to be passed in the first place.

No! Stop! Stop! No religion, no politics! We'll get the thread closed and it's my favorite.

I, for one, though about avoiding posting here because of the topic title. Just sayin'.

No, I can see where you'd think that. I mean, this is a topic geared towards women and I would like to see it stay my pet fangirl gush thread about nothing in particular. Again, you are absolutely free to make your own topic, if that makes more sense to you, of if it's more comfortable. :D

There is really only one solution to this conflict and division!

We talk about someone that both sexes, whether hetero or homosexual will want to romance.

SANDAL!

I'd love to have an LI something like Daveth. A little perverted, straight-forward, not too high brow. I've always loved his accent/manner of speech, too.

Oh so did I.  Shame the jerk couldn't open a fricken chest and he was a ROGUE.  Posted Image

A LI like sir jory would be nice for females. A loving father, caring husband, fat, bald, and a bit dumb.

That would get you ladies more prepared for what's coming in real life :D

Thankfully my husband of 9 years is just a caring husband! ... and going a bit bald but hey ... Posted Image

I've resolved not to get attached to any of the characters in DA2 until I know they survive. First Daveth dies in the Joining. Then King Cailan gets squashed by an ogre. So I say, "no more! I'll have no more of this!" Then I meet Ser Otto.

Yup.

I'm still ticked off about that.

Poor Ser Otto.  I wasn't happy what happened to him either.

THough I find his voice hawt ... yes I have a crush on Gregoir darn it!  Posted Image

I had a thing for Canderous in KOTOR and also for Zaeed in ME2. I want an older man, preferably human, who is confident and unashamedly badass.

I never left Canderous out of my party in KoTOR as I enjoyed him alot.  He might have been crass but hey, he's a bad boy!

Mmm, yes, he is a perfect evilish LI. I'd do him!

Another good one is James Purefoy. His looks and his voice remind me of the warden from the Sacred Ashes trailer.

Sandal has what all the women want, a true romance, the polls are in. Afterall, what is lacking after the first five years of marriage in most divorce bound couples?

Sandal: "Enchantment!"

He'll bring enchantment back into your lives ladies, he will do what you say without protest, stay faithfully by your side and isn't afraid of change...that is unless you want to teach him a new favorite word. That might be a bit difficult. Posted Image

I just want Bioware to make sure that the romances all can last throughout the entire game, rather than hitting a wall half-way through, like the Alistair romance. Zevran's was nicely set up, in that you COULDN'T move up until after the Landsmeet. That said, it's...awkward to me to be supposedly romantically involved with someone, and yet the only dialogue option you really have is "wanna have sex?" for hours and hours of gameplay because you've exhausted all the others.

I actually have to agree with you on this.  After tent time there was nothing to talk about.  I mean even talking to Kaiden about a previous mission was fun, why didn't they do that at least?

My problem with the male options for romances is they are too tame.  I want a character who is aggressive about going after what he wants.  I want a LI option to ask me for a night of passion every so often when I talk to him.  I am not talking about removing the romantic elements, but back me up ladies... How many times have you initiated versus him?  Three out of ten?

Zev was a great one for this.  He pushes and pushes.  Hints and persuades.  Then once the deed is done it's never again unless you ask.  Men do not act that way, or at least every man I 've ever known.  That is how a guy acts who wanted to score and then they are ready to move on.

When I played as a male character Morrigan would invite you herself  "I'm cold" and Leliana encouraged an invite always "Arn't you sweet and attentive.",  but Alistair always acted surprised.  For writers who had some of the best insight into what might appeal to women, boy did they get that wrong.  Mary Kirby where were you?

If the male LI is agressive enough to get out there and kill, then he is not going to act like my lapdog.  Trust me these female character's we play can hold their own and would look for an equal.  I expected when I hardened Alistair that he would start questioning my decisions, offer input, and let me know what he wanted.  It never happened and I was very surprised. Posted Image

Hm ... now that you mention it ... that WOULD be nice.  I disliked Zevran's romance really ... and only go for Alistair. I might just buck up and finish Zev's so I cna get the achievement heh.

Uh, no. Stereotype! Real women rarely get into cat fights. You're just suggesting this because you would like to see some video game mud wrestling.

Fine....he cheats on you once and feels very sorry and trys to go out of his way to make up with you....better?....Still gonna need to teach that other woman a lesson...at least once...or beat up the guy?

In all honesty, if I break my arse getting a man to love me truly, and he acts like a jerk and goes to another woman, I won't be fighting for him.  His loss.  And he has to sleep sometime.  Posted Image

Ugh! Sharing Alistair with Morrigan at the end, and her snide little remarks irritated me so much that I did the ultimate sacrifice on my next playthrough. That epilogue, needless to say, was something of a let down. Ali should have pined more.

...Mods, my dear, mods.

EDIT: Not that they shouldn't have been in the vanilla version, but still. Alleviate your broken fangirl hearts with the cunning use of cheating!

EDIT 2: Also, does anyone else think the eye-open thing is weird? I guess to make the sacrificee look more...dead...but it just looked like Alistair picked her up and she's laying there like "Oh my god, that was trippy".
