Not really, not enough rule 34.

They are really terrible at adhering to rules #1 and #2

So tell me what kind of background do you want? Or do you want a mystery guy without a background? I really would like to know.I may not agree with it or I may want the same thing, but I would be interested in what your looking for.
I don't really have anything in mind for a background. Just...not Carth Syndrome. Look under Wynne's post on this thread to see my exact sentiments on it.
I'm pretty trusting of anything BioWare does, I just think that this sort of character background is something they've overused. I'd like to see it done away with.

I'm not sure if it's been said before, but I would like to romance a male Orlesian chevalier.
In DA:O I found Riordan's accent to be incredibly sexy - it was a shame we couldn't seduce him the night before the Battle of Denerim like my female Cousland seduced Dairren...
*wistful sigh*
Anyway, the chevalier might initially start off as a pompous, arrogant jerk who makes snide comments, questioning Lady Hawke's ability to lead (unlike Alistair, who was like a sad, lost little neutered pup that followed my female Warden around without question).
The chevalier would secretly be in love with Lady Hawke, but he wouldn't want anyone to know, so he would tease her and make her hate him at first. They would, eventually, have passionate, angry sex together after a shouting match ended with him grabbing her and kissing her (Lady Hawke could then decide to slap him or kiss him back).
...Yes, that would be nice *blushes*

There isn't anything wrong with Alistair, I like him as a character. However, if I were ever in a real world situation he would be the first guy I'd pass over. I hate to say it. He would strictly be best friend territory because that's where I could see him in my life. Someone I'd IM about silly stuff/action figures/comic book stuff but never be anything more than my friend. My boyfriend isn't anything like him and for that I'm grateful.

Is it wrong that even though Canderous is an even older dude than Carth, I wasn't grossed out by the prospect of jumping his pants? HOT DAMN CANDEROUS
No--I honestly believe that if both parties are adults, there's nothing "wrong," it's a matter of what they're comfortable with.
What if I RP'd Revan as being a fourteen year old that dressed up as a republic soldier for a play on the ship before the Sith attacked?

@AloraKast - Of course not. I'm sometimes blunt to a fault. I hope you didn't think I thought anything other.
I think he's an adorable little guy but for me adorable is only going to get you so far. I never got dumped by him since I masterminded my first play though to become Queen. However, I don't think in the context of the game world I would have ever really made him King. He's damn sure not cut out for it and I have other things to do with my time to to guild him along the path of a king.
He just wouldn't be my first choice of my ideal romance. I'm really sad that the original concept of Alistiar got dropped but it's understandable why they did. That concept would have been the Alistair I would totally fall hard for.

Oh, not at all Kerridan. I find your ideas fascinating and absolutely love the "bluntness"; you have very well formed opinions, are passionate about them and stick to them - I admire that.
Though do tell, what was the original concept of Alistair? Alas, I am unfamiliar with that.

Oh dear. David said something a while back. I'll try to find the post if someone doesn't find it first. Alistair was supposed to be an older Gray Warden. One that was gruff and had seen many battles. However, they wanted Alistair to be one of the first people you talked with and guided you into being a Gray Warden better. He said that it just wouldn't make sense for someone like that to defer to you all the time so they came up with the current idea of Alistair. I know I'm paraphrasing like hell but that's how I remembered it. Let me see if I can find the exact posting.
Edit: Here it is. My friend Herr just found it for me. social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/47/index/440856/3#443111
