Ooooh Yeah! Lance Henrickson. I love him as an actor, but as a love interest??? Hmm, if he doesn't play a half-dead artificial person, it might be do-able.

appearantly my fiance thinks it should be me... so beer bellied snarky, witty, depraved, yet quite chivalrous intelligent male that seems to go nowhere despite his intelligence and schooling

I just want that voice ... and those moves ;)

Seriously, I met him on Saturday, and he sounds the same as he did then :) *okay, maybe a little better*

Hmm, but half-dead artificial persons in DA2 would be quite a twist! *cue M. Night.*

Lance Hendrikson could sooooo do Varric's voice acting. That would just be awesome.

While I'm all for him as a VA in DA2, I can just see more complaints about DA2 becoming Mass Effectified as he was the voice of Admiral Hackett.

@ Inside_Joke - you met him? I'm sooo jealous.

And since you brought up Aliens (in a round about way), how about Michael Beihn's character for a LI in DA2??? *drools slightly*

:o:O:O

Bioware needs to hire him back.
Give him a cameo even. Maybe instead of Admiral Hackett he could be Captain Hackette. Heh heh.

True. He does tend to lean more towards sci-fi anyway *thank you Aliens*

Michael Beihn is also very acceptable :D

**has to be said. Thank goodness for threads like this. Others seem to be taking a different direction ...

The t-rex is female. So if you can understand the metaphor ...

Okay, the cheesy 80s song Man-eater just popped into my head. Thanks, Inside.

Bwahaha!

Well, if it makes you feel better, the Nelly Furtado version is stuck in my head ...

I've been trying to think of other sci-fi actors/characters that would make great fantasy friends.

I guess Batman doesn't count. *I would end up smacking his brooding *ss around anyway ...*

Did you ever see Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? Gray, the male lead was voiced by Alec Baldwin, and I just adored his character - very Shepard-esque. Also, if we're talking movie-men, how about Mad Martagan from Willow, played by Val Kilmer. Loooved him!!!

I really don't know what kind of character I'd prefer to romance, though the thought of being forced to endure yet another stereotypical 'bad boy' or 'holier than thou' romance makes my teeth itch. Then again this is Bioware we're talking about, so I very much doubt that I wouldn't somewhat enjoy those types of romance partners if they were handled properly.
I'd love for them to give Steve Blum a role as the voice actor for one of the romance options however. Especially if he reprises something akin to his role as Spike Spiegal from Cowboy Bebop in order to do it.

Val Kilmer, loved him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. *He played Gay Perry but still ...* Wouldn't mind battling through Fereldan with him, ah ha xD

OOooh! Ya, Gray was pretty awesome. I forgot all about that movie.

@DrunkDeadman:

I was about to mention him. You win.

But if not, some Nathon Fillion will do. Although Alistair was apparently modelled after him, his sarcasm anyway.

Kind of liked Adrian Brody's character in Predators. I liked him, then hated him, then loved him. Characters that put me through that are GREAT :)

I'd love a sarcastic, laid-back, exiled noble who's not afraid to stand by his actions and opinions. An experienced man in warfare and violent negotiations. Someone who plays jump rope on the line between being an anti-hero and a complete monster as he's capable of extreme brutality in certain situations.
He's not all that bad however. He loves his family deeply and might consider you to be a part of it if you'll warm up to him. And what he loves, he protects with his life.

Sounds like you want Simon Cowell...well, apart from the warfare bit.

^Simon Cowell in DA, oh my ...

"That backstab was utterly terrible. You're so dreadful, I feel I should hang myself now. You aren't serious, are you? No. Get off my battlefield."

I think he'd be the only team member I've ever told to go away...

No. Just no. No Simon Cowell. He'll invade the DA universe with his narcissism and infect everything that makes it good and fun. He'll have to be cut out lest his superiority complex and vileness spread to the farthest corners of Thedas.

So Simon Cowell is a darkspawn. :o  That fits.

That's how Hawke becomes Champion of Kirkwall. He slays Simon Cowell. All is saved!

Ahem, anyway ...
I want to see a Shaun of the Dead type character. Unmotivated, witty, sarcastic, almost worthless - until all hell breaks lose! Then a hero rises, with a cricket bat! *If Hawke gets a sword on a stick, someone can use a cricket bat ...*

Since the DA:O boys both had senses of humor (a trait I love) and were generally light-hearted, I'd like something different in DA2.

1) A very introverted, stoic warrior with a dash of angst. He's the silent type who sets himself apart from the group, but when he offers his advice it's always insightful, and when the PC gets to know him you uncover a very soft and squishy inside. AKA Nathaniel Howe from DA:A, really.

2) A self-serving, cocky, brash ****hole.  NOT Morrigan with a peen.  Think Eric from True Blood.  The PC can work her/his way under his skin over the course of the romance, and he'll become extremely protective as a sign of his affection, probably never saying his feelings in words.

Physically, I want brunettes/dark hair since DA:O was blonde overload.
Also, any race but a dwarf (for these particular character types, I mean).

[Edited to add:]

3) Garrus Vakarian. That is all.

Not trying to hate on the dwarves.  I'd have Gorim in a second if I could (and dammit, I tried!) and I'm fully anticipating a Varric-LI playthrough if he happens to be an option.

I just want my dwarves to be charming, not the brooding/dark character types I mentioned.  And please gawd, no Oghren.

And I want a little bit of a chase, maybe compete for him with my sister. It's kind of boring when your the center of the attention all the time.
Or someone older that's more like Alistair's original design...
I don't want to have to choose between a virgin and a sdm guy again. As much as I love Leliana I would like a man this time around.
(Unless one of the new girls has a voice as sultry as Corinne Kempa's....)
